Not too shabby, who's missing except for the butter fingered twins?

Did Akker vd Merwe decline selection for the Bok squad? I simply can not see how Britz could be selected ahead of Akker.

Blikkies, I'll second that.  My M OTM of the final. The actual difference between the 2 teams.

Where are the loosehead props?   Only Kitshoff is a loosehead amongst that lot.  Neyer at the time asked dfor Du Toit to be switched frm loose head to tight head and he has since played at Tighthead,   Nyakane is a poor scrummager - but he pops up now as a loosejead and next game as a tighthead.   In between he is a poor scrummer - end of story.

Leaving out Du Toit - there are four locks in the team. and only three positions available in match day squads.   I do not think the physically deficient Mostert is going to last much longer.

There is a dozen other questions one has to ask - but that later

Draad

I think it may have to do with playing in Europe.   I still would have picked -

*    Coetzee ahead of Louw  as loosie;

*    Serfontein ahead of Esterhuizen at center;

*    Duhan van der Merwe ahead of Aplon as back up for the wings and full back'

*     Akker ahead of Brits as hooker;

I think Erasmus has some quota players problems.    Beast and Am are just two of them.

By the way - the newspaper reports said Vermeulen is coming back from injury.   He was not injured in the June test series - so when was he injured?    Did he play any rugby in Japan at all?   Confusing.

However, what would be interesting is who will be in the matchday squad against England.

Happy for Sergeal.

Yeah, the butter finger twins should be there. Maybe not JL but Dan for sure.

They're actually not such butter fingers.

Am and Beast aren't quotas. At times we have more white quotas than black. Rassie wants experience, so Aplon was always going to have the inside lane against Duhan.

Serfontein for André doesn't bolster our centre stock. Getting rid of Damian for Serfontein does.

Like it or not, Rassie thinks highly of Brits. We'll see what he does on tour.

Another case of inability to understand English.   I neve said all players other than Whites are quota players.  Beast is not - Am is.

By the way quota players are those who are only selectable because of their skin colour - not their playing ability.   LMAO

I didn't say you said that, I made my own comment on quotas after remarking on what you said about Beast and Am.

There is another kind of quota, the plastic quota. To keep the pseudo-fans happy. Damian, Kriel, Lambie, Coetzee, Goosen, Watson etc a l are some of those plastic quotas.

The term quota itself doesn't refer to race. Don't look now, but I see two eggs falling from the sky, in your vicinity.

Plum, I've got a theory about their butter fingers. They are twins, their collective handling errors are attributed to one of the 2 players twice. ...but that goes for the good things too.

Haha Draad

I'm finally starting to be able to tell them apart. Should get easier to do as they get older.

My theory is that the two of them handle the ball quite a lot in traffic and close to defenders. They support well also and have to catch a lot of awkward offload.

Makes dropping of balls occasionally kinda inevitable.

On the whole though, both make a habit of getting over the advantage line and similar to Akker, constantly make positive contributions.

Remove Dan from that game yesterday and it'd have been a different story.

I'm defos a fan. Just in case it wasn't clear :)

Plastic selections are those effective players you do not want in the squad and the coach selected because they were the ones that do produce the goods?

You dislike the players for some reason or another and come up with the most ridiculous theories possible.

Damian is effective? Coetzee was effective? Where was Lood in the big games? Where was Kriel? Which test did Lambie dominate? On and on we go, and wrong you are. Again.

Nobody denigrates a performer as you do.

This is the funniest posting I have ever seen by a non compus mentus nincompoop.

I do not denigrate players - you do.   I do not denigrate coaches - you do.

Imagine denigrating  Meyer by saying he succumbed to demands by the public when making selections.   I attack his failures as a coach - you say he is a mental weakling when it comes to his selections

I say clearly which players have stronger points and what their weaknesses are,   You lie and distort freely about player performances.

Funny - but from your earliest postings on site under all your user names through the years - you always stuck with the same BS stories and it is not hard to destroy your theories.     A typical example is your statement that Matfield was the best Springbok lock in the WC in 2015 - when he did note even start in most matches and when he did he failed in the Japan disaster.   He was told by Meyer to use superior forward power against the Japanese - like for instance driving mauls - but Matfield was useless in driving mauls and did not follow instructions  because of that.    In the Samoa test he was replaced  at minute 54 after he made 8 tackles - in the rest of the game De Jager made 8 tackles.    He never made another starting selection until the Bronze medal game against the Argentina "B" team.

When caught out or cannot comprehend a problem you run for cover - definitely faster than your hero Estrhuizen - who has a serious pace deficiency.

I never said Victor was the best lock in the World Cup. I wouldn't tank any of our locks as bets in the competition now that you mention it.

You say Victor was useless against the Japanese, yet he totally outclassed Steph, who was our blindside flank. What was he doing all game?

Mauls were not our problem in that game. You have absolutely no idea how the Boks played. You once said it was a stupid 2004 Bulle kick game. You have given numerous interpretations. If you ever do point out how the Boks played, you'd have a big problem, because you'd start to see similarities to the structure of Rassie's Boks.

You said SA lock - you fool.

Du Toit di not play ta lock BSter.   Because Alberts suffered from a fat strain Du Toit was brought in at no7 - the first time eh played in the 7 position after being used in the 2012 WC in that position.   So bringing in Du Toit in that case is total misrepresentation as is usual in your case.

No - even in the newspaper reports after the game it was stated that Matfield disregarded totally the instructions of Meyer in using forward play by disregarded his instructions to utilize forward superiority.  Rolling mauls was one of the methods used in the past - but was never used against the Japanese.   Why?

And the Bulls game of 2004 was in evidence in all the WC games.   If the flyhalf gets past to him less than 25% of the balls the scrummie passed  - what does it mean?    I never had problems with Erasmus's game plan - I have huge problems with the BS Meyer used as  game plan - it is not even clear whether  he had one at all.
