Hey guys I was looking through some past games and stuff and found some pretty surprising facts. I heard a few times that you guys are really bad travellers and I bthink thats true for the Bulls in super rugby but i think you guys have missed a few things. Heres the boks away record statistics since 2008 when the laws changed:
15 wins/13 losses so thats 51.7% win percentage on the road. i think most of those are losses to new zealand and ausatralia because looking at the past fixtures i see you guys only lost two games on the 2009 nh tour and only one in 2010 against scots. 2008, 2012 were clean sweeps. I thinks thats a very good record too be perfectly honest. but heres what shocked me...
the wallabies have on their record 16 wins and 16 loses and thats 48.5% on the road in the same time as the boks. i really didnt think it was that bad at all! what worries me as well is that wallabies are at 61% win rate at home so i feel a little less confident now but i know stats dont decide everything and its ewans first hit out v the boks. but yeah you guys have never won in brissie so thats what im clinging on for.
heres another bit of trivia. i looked up the statistical data for the cycle 2004 and 2007 and the wallabies were at 30% win on the road and the boks were 39.1%. pretty bad but again i didnt think it was. i suppose we dont have journos being so damn pessimistic because i alwatys feel the wallabies are doing better than the boks.
Heres a last one, i looked at the 2000-2003 cycle and here i see the wallabies are 47.4% in what we all called our best years! here the boks were at 25% with 5 wins and 14 losses.
so yeah what does it all mean? pretty much nothing in light of the game on saturday but it shows that the boks have been getting much better on the road and since 2007 you guys have lost much less up north than you used to and only have australia and new zealand to overturn. so yeah thought that might interest some of you.
