You wish old man.I am personally gonna save this thread to show your incompetence about rugby knowledge. The backline will look more like so...
10) Goosen,11)C Hendricks,12)Steyn F,13)S Sithole,14) Mvovo,15)Le Roux.
03 Jun 2014, 12:39#3
Unfortunately Mike, you are living in a dream world. A world that I think about all the time. What could be if it were that easy..Your 2016 backline is brilliant and probably deserved but SA rugby is so full of politics its unreal. You do not have nearly enough "players of colour" bro and with our conservative coaches, this will NEVER happen.
We will likely still be seeing Frans Steyn, JP Pietersen and so on...Watching the Baby Boks yesterday made me realise how much talent we have in SA but also that most of those players will be lost in the system after 2014 JWC..One or two of them might "make it" but for the rest, they will just get lost in the balls up that is Bok rugby and be forced to look for a gig elsewhere in the world! Sad really but this is reality of Bok rugby and our circus of a setup!

Boklogic
You have it spot on and it is WHY I included Mvovo,Sithole and Hendricks.
03 Jun 2014, 12:52#5
Boklogic, the sooner we (and the players and their agents, for that matter) accept that there is no need to have all of the 2014 Baby Boks in the 2015 Bok side, the better. If you go by some sofa coaches, we will see half of the 2014 Baby Boks in the Bok side for the 2014 EOYT. Let those youngsters play Vodacom/CC for a season or two and slowly get them in the S15 and higher.
That was what should have been done with Johan Goosen and even Jan Serfontein. I would also include Pieter-Steph du Toit. When PSDT first "surfaced" I just had a feeling that they were pushing the younster too soon. The same with Arno Botha. All of these guys are brilliant prospects for the future. Don't stuff the up too soon. The Eben Etzebeths are few and far between and even he has now been down with an injury for a very long time. To send them into gyms and let them bulk up with muscle is also not the answer. That is where these sudden biceps injuries are coming from. You are born with natural upper body strength that players like Bismarck and Brussow has. Gym work, etc can improve it but if you do not have a lot of it naturally, the gym work will not be sufficient.
Edit. The best current example of being patient with a player is Handre Pollard. Some people had the fits when he was signed by the Bulls and did not get into the S15 side immediately. They had him play at Tuks for a while and then slowly brought him in to find his feet. I don't know why they did not do the same with Serfontein.
03 Jun 2014, 13:22#6
Ceradyne, Serfontein got pushed into the Bulls team early because of Oliviera impending leave. When Jan got played he performed well and merited a call for the Boks.
Mike I think that Serfontein is better than Esterhuizen.
03 Jun 2014, 14:03#7
Clearly I must be missing something here.
Since when does mediocrity warrant a call up?
Serfontein as far as I've seen has not been consistent this season.
Not by a long shot. He shows snippets of talent on occasion but that's as far as it goes.
In fact, if there's anyone pushing De Villiers for his Bok jersey it's De Allende ... not Serfontein.
03 Jun 2014, 14:09#8
I know he was pushed because of Olivier but he was not the only one available. They probably had little choice, but it still was not the ideal solution. The had Francois Venter who they released to go to the Cheetahs for instance. In any case, Serfontein did not replace Wynand Olivier. Olivier still played for the Bulls in 2013, the same season that Serfontein made his debut for the Bulls. Olivier left at the end of the 2013 season when he signed with Montpellier, after playing in Japan in 2012.
IMO they should have retained Venter and have Serfontein as his understudy in 2013 and then let the two of them fight it out in 2014.
The fact that I am a Bulls supporter does not mean that I have to agree with everything they do.

No message from the rugby retard - but what else is expected. He would like to see the over 40's as the answer to the Springboks rugby and in 2019 be advocating that Matfield and Bakkies should be our lock combination. And of course there is also weak-kneed Fransie to support. And at 38 Du Preez would be at the top of his performance and Gurthro and Kirchner will be at their prime at that time. What a collection of rubbish we have to put up from this retard.

Mike no need to be so abusive. These things feed off eachother. Lift the tone please.
I have to agree with ou Windpomp. We see a star youngster and push him futher than he should go. The guys listed by Windpomp are all great talents and all have been injured.
Look also how Jaque Du Plessis is played every match. Kitshof hadnt missed a match I think before he was injured. Malherbe likewise. Actually it is not only young players getting pushed too far but there is a very poor rotation. Keep playing your best 15 and change only when they get injured. Now what prevents nz doing the same thing. The CENTRAL CONTRACTING SYSTEM. They make SURE THE WEE ABS ARE NOT OVER PLAYED.
This is NOT rocket science. We are involved in a professional sport and the managment generally is appalling. What makes it absurd is Prof Noakses has told sa rugby very clearly what the limits are!! These twits think they know better!
Injuries are messing up our chances in Super rugby BIG time and also of course the Boks. It is a huge issue.
I would love to see a comparative injury list for SA, OZ and NZ. I think we have the most injuries by some way and much of that, but not exclusively, is due to poor player managment in its various form.

Sorry windpomp I am not talking about out for the season. I am talking about injured squad players not available for selection. We at one point had 17 players out.Best measue would be injured players times matches not available.
That list is rubbish. No cheetahs or Lions players injured.
Look now also at how many players are not available for the Boks.

Ha-ha - here we have a case of a person living in the past trying to make fun of a person that has some ideas of the future. I know it is difficult to keep up to date in the modern world - but it is better to think of both the present and the future as well. The past is history and we generally know that history cannot be transported into the future like he is constantly trying to do.
We should in fact learn from teh mistakes of the past and not repeat them. The players who failed in 2010 and 201 should not be taken in now and expect something better from them the future. They failed in the past and they inevitably will fail n future. .

Dof Doos
You apparently think there are only 3 SA Franchises and forgot about the other 2. So try again - maybe you would with ultimate difficulty learn to count up to 5.

Ou Maaikie, I tried to avoid you for some time because a few around here don't like it when I criticize you but they have no issue when you are on Moz' (and my) back at every opportunity. Maybe it disturbs them when their idol gets hammered every time he comes up with his bullshit. There is also no problem with you calling me a cunt (doos) every time you address me.
Maybe it would have made a difference if you asked me for the source of those figures. I would have told you that I got it from the injury update website. In any case, what if the Lions and the Cheetahs do not have any players who are out for the season? So get back in your cage you fucking imbecile.
