The breakdown is very poor.
All the top international teams will target the Bok breakdown as the way to beat the Boks
Even when Kriel came on the pitch- the Springboks remained useless at the breakdown
Not enough turnovers won, and too many turnovers conceded.
Perhaps indicative of a game plan - where one player does not know where the other is or going to be.
A team of 15 individuals without a game plan- much like many of Meyers games. Meyer often relied on Leroux to save the game from the ashes.

A few critical moments won the-the Springboks the match- instead of losing to the more solid Irish team. The Irish were very unlucky to win the test
Faffs try saver, and Jantjies perfectly weighted tap kick. It shows when Jantjies gets time and space he is very good.
4 NationsWe may see a call-up for Bismark who is more effective at the breakdown. Too many ball carriers- and not enough fetchers. The cart pulling the horse.
Vermeulen is now too slow for the breakdown. He is either past it or seriously out of form
We are stuck with Louw as he was the only one that made any impact the breakdown. Kolisi did get one turnover.
Habana may be back as well.
A starting backline of
9. faff
10. jantjies
12. delande   (I am worried about delande. He is not showing the offloads that he was doing for the Stormers last year.
13. JP/Mapoe (utility back)
14.   Wille Leroux/ JP This will take away kicking responsibility from willie le roux which has become predictable- ontop of inconsistent. (except consistently crap)
15. Combrink- a better clearance kick than Willie Leroux. He is better in contact on defence.
11. Habana/

My biggest worry is two fold. Firstly will we ever get our best match 23 selected. If not how can we be number 1.Secondly will Alistair get the game plan right.  We must adopt the Lions style and pick the players to play that style. We shall see.
S harkbok Ireland have been together for years. They have played many more tests than us this year.
That said the slickness of their backs and the rawness of ours was evident. Can Alistair get this right. He never has in the past.
