Springbok Camp Squad Announced (ex Bulls/Sharks)

Cape Town - A group of 26 players gathered in Pretoria on Sunday for the next instalment of the national alignment and conditioning camps as the Springboks continue with their preparations for the forthcoming international season.

Players from the Bulls and Sharks, who took part in the weekend's Super Rugby quarter-final matches, will join the camp from next Monday.

Nine overseas-based players will attend the camp and they include: flank Marcell Coetzee (Ulster, Ireland), utility forward Rynhardt Elstadt (Tououse, France), prop Vincent Koch (Saracens, England), lock Franco Mostert(Gloucester, England), scrumhalf Faf de Klerk, fullback Willie le Roux (Toyota Verblitz, Japan), scrumhalf Cobus Reinach (Northampton Saints), wing/fullback Cheslin Kolbe and centre Frans Steyn (Montpellier, France).

Fransie returns...

The Springboks kick off their shortened campaign on July 20 against the Wallabies in Johannesburg and that match will be followed a week later by the keenly awaited rematch with New Zealand in Wellington, the scene of last year's epic away win over against the All Blacks.

The Boks conclude their official campaign against Argentina two weeks later, on August 10 in Salta, while the same two teams are set to meet again a week later in Pretoria in a once-off Test before the Boks report for Rugby World Cup training duty.

For the most part, the squad is as expected, with just a few bolters.

Good to see Kwagga is called up. He could be effective on the fast pitches of Japan.

Fat Fransie has been called up again. He is probably a better option than Delande or Carthuizen. There has been no space for Serfontein?

Have the Deysel twins missed the bus  for being too one dimensional? Will see which Bulls and Sharks will be added.

Marvin Orie!!!!!!!!!!!! One forgets about certain players.eg Elstadt.

Obviously a few useless players in the squad,   Fat Fransie is the outstanding zero-rated player to be called up. 

Mozxart will never learn ever.  After the 2015 WC - when there was at least 8 players who were unplayable in the squad  - the useless idiot supported Amla, Duminy and Stey n to be included in the CWC squad destroying SA image in cricket,  

He is so useless -as far as I know his contract with Montpellier has NOT been renewed.   And Jantjies was getting worse as the Super Rugby season progressed,   

Before one applauds any return of Fransie let' s see what he weighs and what remains of the athlete he once was. The Fransie we saw here last was riven with injuries and badly overweight. he looked done.

Fran's career is one of the great tragedies of Bok rugby. A potential great who career collapsed early

Go back to the stage before and when the squad was announced and you will find your comment on reservations about the three - especially my own and even Denny's comments on the Amla issue.

You have never checked anything as suggested.   Go and what you wrote before the squad was selected and afterwards as to selection of the squad.   Trying to hide your comments again,

By the way you criticized Amla once - very mildly about regaining his form - but for that comments you attacked De Kock constantly and viciously.  You are as per normal in delirium.   .
