I also met Dave once and he is levelheaded and a friendly and nice guy. He is a real rugby enthusiast and not negative on any player by inventng lies about player performances, Unlike some site membes he never invents anything that is absent in matches and he is at least honest in his opinions on players,
He has never put Esterhuizen above De Allende when it comes to performances though he is less critical of Esterhuizen than I am, Like me Esterhuizen is not in line for repalcement of De Allnde - Wilemse is the first option. He puts Esterhuizen third - and I ut him at 4 or 5 - The five are Willemse, Hooker, Kriel, the Under 20 12 and then perhaps Esterhuizen.
For obvious reasons White thought Estehuizen was not a center and in 2014 tried him out as a loosie in franchis matches - but his experience was shortlived, Erasmus never really rated Esterhuizen and left him out of the WC squad in 2019 and did not even bring him into the squad when Kriel was to be replaced - he brought in Willemse who in his first test acheved something Esterhuizen never did in 20 test matches he played in - he scored a try.

As to Erasmus's squad selection I do not agree with some choices like Willie, Esterhuizen, Libbok, Reinach. Koch and Mostert. All of them are way past their sell-bye dates and we have better options availble, I dnnot dobt it but by next year all fo those would eb out of squad selection.
It is a known act that Willie is in the squad as an advisor of palayers ain strategy dsicussions and is in a caching development program where Erasmus beleve thatc aches should be trained in. By 2028-29 ilie will be he abckline coach of the Springboks. Du Toit is not on that program - he wans to g farmng when he etiedfrom rugby and may be povidng opinions on issues relating to Rugby - with De Allende being he defense coach in the making.
Mlherbbe is likely to be a future scrumming coach - and Erasmus is providig hem wih e process hat when etired they can continue heir career in rugby enhancement through enering he field of coaching. The same is likely to hapen in the case of Etazebeh and Pollard in future, By 2029-30 we wold ahve coaches in all four ranchises that wuld not do what e present coaces are doing - gone will be the likes of Pinetree and Dobson.
