Possible Bok team from Craig Lewis
September 27, 2017, 14:48:52
Possible Springboks– 15 Andries Coetzee, 14 Dillyn Leyds, 13 Jesse Kriel, 12 Jan Serfontein, 11 Courtnall Skosan, 10 Elton Jantjies, 9 Ross Cronjé, 8 Uzair Cassiem, 7 Siya Kolisi, 6, Francois Louw, 5 Franco Mostert, 4 Eben Etzebeth (c), 3 Ruan Dreyer, 2 Malcolm Marx, 1 Beast Mtawarira. Subs: 16 Bongi Mbonambi, 17 Steven Kitshoff, 18 Trevor Nyakane, 19 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 20 Jean-Luc du Preez, 21 Rudy Paige, 22 Handré Pollard, 23 Damian de Allende.
....
Obviously the team was decided a while ago....the difference is Chiliboy for Bongi.....I wonder why that selection was made. It's an incredibly fragile backline, but if the forwards dominate that may be disguised. History says the Boks have a good chance to win this.

If I was Du Preez I would announce that I was no longer available for national duty ... and then go make my millions abroad.
To be over looked like this ... and have a second rate quota chump like Kolisi take my place ... it's just not acceptable.
That goes for guys like Rohan, Vorster, Combrinck, Nkosi and Acker vd Merwe too.

CC
I am not sure which selections should be regarded as the worst ones - so I have introduced a categories of my own:-
* Treasonous - Rallepele (cxannot even make the bench for the Sharks)* Catastrophic - Dreyer, Nyakane, Leyds, Pollard* P!ss poor - Serfontein, Kriel, Cassiem* Questionable - Skosan, Jantjies
In other words 10 of the 23 are not international standard players - how the hell does Xoetzee beat the Wallabies with that lot!!!!!!!!

Maaik, not the ideal team, but we should still beat the Wallies. Alblacks will slaughter us again.

Mike ... the entire backline from 10 to 15 do not belong there.
No 9 can stay. Will decide on whether he gets a bench spot later or not ... but he'll be part of the squad.
The entire back row is a joke ... 6, 7 and 8 do not belong there. They're all blindside flanks ... and the best of the lot just so happens to be sitting on the bench.
The locks can stay but I'd rather have PSDT in at 5.
Marx is the only one in the front row that can stay.
The bench ... it too is an abortion. I would only keep Kitshoff, PSDT and Du Preez.
That adds up to 7.
The rest are all garbage.
Vermaak, Lionel Cronje, Nkosi, Janse van Rensburg, Vorster, Combrinck and Gelant.
My back row would be Cloete, Kriel (when healthy) and Du Preez at 8.
Locks ... Eben and Du Toit.
Front row ... Kitshoff, Marx and Louw

Pretty good post there CC. Solid tight five and lose trio looks nicely balance as Cloete is a powerful player.I am not sure how Vorster would stand up in international rugby. Combrinck a definite on the wing and Le Roux at 15. Faf at scrumhalf.

Twas good to hear Laurie Mains onna radio this morning say that racial selections are destroying SA rugby ......................... but he doesn't have any involvement in rugby & has the freedom to express his views, the closest Steve Hansen comes, is to say, "they have their problems." Even our sports journalists don't mention the subject, but I don't blame em, their jobs are probably on the line .... ask Hougat's broer Dereck.
If those controlling ANC fckwits & their SARU puppets step out for their ridiculous selfserving meet & greet at Newlands, will the locals, please, give em the same reception that the haka evokes & tell em what we think of their interference in our game .

It will be interesting to see how Leyds does. I recall he is fast on his feet but might be a little in the weak side defensively. Still, I doubt he will miss as many tackles as Rhule did last week - what a disaster.

Leyds is a defensive liability that we can ill afford at test level. We might get by against Aussie, but NZ would take us to the cleaners.
