What does Marx have to do to get a full game, this is affirmative action in over drive. Might cost us the game against Bargies and so the championship too

Not sure what Oupa Steyn will offer, he just seems out of breath these days.

And why on earth is not so Marvelous Orie even in the bloody team

I am not convinced about Jessica Kriel, and think it is time to move on from him. Nkosi would be a better option at 13 than Kriel.

Frans Steyn used to be able to walk faster than he runs nowadays. Would have been better to put Fassi at 15, with Willemse at 12.

Frans Steyn will not be around for the next world cup, it is time to move on from him.

I agree on Fassi at 15 and Willemse at 12. Steyn is probably on his last tour, probably a farewell game for him

Frans at 12 is a shocker - would have made far more sense playing Willemse at 15 with Fassi at 15 and Penxe on the wing Orie on the bench - please no When is RG Snyman going to be ready I wonder

Poor totally undercooked team against a team that beat NZ less than a year ago?

The team is ok but for Frans at 12 and Kwagga at 7 I’m not sure why Elstadt given he is in the squad is not given a run at 7 instead of little Kwagga who should only be considered at 6 The squad shows poor depth selection at lock and inside centre The fact that Etzebeth has to start again shows no faith in the squad locks selected Orie and Nico Janse v Rensburg should not be in the squad - Jenkins, Ruben Schoeman, Ruben v Heerden and JD Schickerling are all better options Same applies at 12, where Esterhuizen, Serfontein and JVR are all far better options Not sure why in form Thomas du Toit is not getting a run. Good to see Wilco Louw back in the starting side

@Saffex, I agree on your comments about locks and centres.

But if you drop Willemse, who for some reason the coaches and pundits seem to rave about.

JVR, are you talking about Ruhan Jansen van  Rensberg, I know he has not had a full season in the premiership, been a bit injury prone of late.

Agree on Elstadt

It does seem the Rassie leans towards players from his Stormer days. Again, just see Elstadt along with Wiese as just blunt instruments

Wilco Louw looked like a world’s best tighthead in the making a few years back….and then inexplicably lost his way. Last I saw him up north he was looking potent again. Hopefully this time it’s for real, his physical assets are perfect for tighthead scrumming.

Elstadt was walking around in a moon boot on Saturday so likely injured. He adds little to the setup though and hasn't impressed when he had a chance. I get why Esterhuizen isn't in the squad cos of the bubble and what not but he should be include as soon as possible. We need tomkove on without Francie and Elton.

Bring in both Hendrikse lightie and start looking to another solid 13. Only 2 years to France 23.

What's the bubble, Xavi? I was also wondering why he didn't make it. Haven't been keeping up with the rugby world lately.

I also think it's time to move on from Frans. I actually thought the WC would be his last hurrah.

It looks like a disastrous team to me.    It may be that the Sprngboks are resting most of their main team and is using the scraps to play the Argentnina team.

The selection of the backline is seriously defective.     Elton Jantjies, Fransie and with Morne on the bench is looking for a disaster since all three are poor defenders.    Fact is that only Willemse, Fassi and Nkosi are decent backline players - but inside of them are the braindead players.

As to the forwards, the situation is that amongst the forwards only Etzebeth, De Jager and Kolisi   are test level players  - with the rest looking like an experimental team with minimal talent.    In any event   that lot will be extremely lucky if they beat the Pumas on Saturday.

I hope Wilco can get a good crack. But good to see we have decent stock in the front row. Not many countries can produce a tight five like ours at the moment. We are spoiled for choice.

Just wish the likes of Botha, Schickeling and Jenkins were in the mix instead Marvellous Orie

Pakie, Covid bubble. SA is still under severe covid restrictions, so a player has to isolate for 2 weeks before they can join the team or bubble.

Yeah thank goodness Wilco Louw is back in the mix not sure why the investment in him was cut short much like the du Preez twins, but they to are sneaking their way back in. I think the Bok squad is mostly right we just need to see the backs of Frans Steyn, Morne Steyn, Nico JVR, Orie and Elstadt I’d like to see the likes of Serfontein, JVR, Goosen and Esterhuizen in the mix amongst the backs. Gelant will return as well In the forwards I’d like to see some real locks like Jenkins, Ruben Schoeman, Ruben v Heerden or JD Schickerling included along with the likes of Jacques du Plessis who is the perfect replacement for Elstadt and then there are the likes of loosies Ackerman, Dylan Richardson, Jaco Coetzee, Elrigh Louw and Tshituka who are worth looking at. Marcel Coetzee is 30 now and injury prone so no point in him. The squad with some of these players would be perfect

I a m actually a bit surprised  that Snyman and Vermeulen  are  not playing in the first test  since the start of their return from injury  in games in Australasia   would to my mind be unwise.
