Not a bad team. My disagreements would be with Coetzee, a high effort player. That gets you a lot in the S15, but in the tests everybody is in max mode, so you fall back on talent, and he simply doesn't have enough horse power for test 7. The other issue is JJ ...an empty suit as he proves week after week.
But let's get back to the Bok 10 decision. Firstly Morne is far more than a kick and chase player, his handling is excellent and he is a superb field general. Lambie is a lesser version of Morne.....Jantjies simply doesn't have the mental strength.
Goosen is a talent, but is a weak defender and while he is a great runner in space, it's Willie who prises open the gaps. I can't see him surviving a test where he gets hit heavily a few times.
So on to Fransie....at this stage he is my pick. He is a big fella, and he will miss a few tackles laterally. But he will put in some big hits and I think can be trained to really rattle his opposite number. He can break and he can offload as we saw against the Saders. And he can kick, but he can't do all the kicking....the scrummie is far better positioned for the box kicks. With du Preez providing that his massive boot can be a weapon.
But mostly I would go with Fransie because Bok teams play better with power inside backs....tough guys. Frans is a better version of Butch James, and Butch won the RWC. Morne would be on my bench.

3ku1, for a min there I thought u were offering to take Jantjies off our hands. Please mate, go wild. Let NZL have him. You know why he goes missing in big games (just like JJ) it's because you can't teach guts! Something Fransie demonstrated in Saturday. You can hone any skill but you can not coach a player to have guts and balls. Ticker as the kiwis call it.
Unfortunately, JJ goes missing in the smaller games as well. These two, when stakes are high, don't expect them to be match winners. We have already seen both crumble under pressure. JJ showed no guts, balls and ticker in letting Barrett walk through him when the boks needed to defend out of their skins for the remainder of the match!

Jantjies and JJ are the flat track bullies that look good against Samoa in SA or when their union is playing the border bulldogs and they can run in 3 tries but put them against equal strength opposition and they go missing.
Look how Habana performed against the AB's until he was injured and when we needed that 5 pointer, jean went and fetched us 1 from nothing. Just sheer determination to make it to that line. JJ and Jantjies will never be that type of player. It's just not them. They were not made to be on the big stage!

So you think playing a loosehead on the tighthead side is a good idea, huh?
I see you also think that a openside flanker is better suited on the blindside, huh?
Maybe you should go support another sport cause by the looks of it rugby is not a strong point of yours.
Try netball!!
Moron!!
Oh and another thing ... who the hell is Estebeth and Vermuluean?

Statistically Francois Steyn is the weakest defender we have at 10 - followed by Morne Steyn. Morne showed that in the Ellis Park test - Francois Steyn in Super 15.
Both are robotic players and both has one equally poor quality - most of their kicks are aimless and counter-productive. Morne has an accruacy rate of 80% in kicks at goal - Francois's is 68%.
Morne is basically a kick and chase player - he can do nothing else and is anything but a superb field general. Stade Francais found that he is a seriously- deficient flyhalf and plays him off the bench for that exact reason - he is clueless in the relevant regard. In any event he had very little playing time this year and when he was brought on from the bench was late in games - yet he cost Stade Francais log points even in that case.
Francois Steyn in all games played this year in Super 15 made one clean break - and that one was against the Crusaders. That is just not good enough. His tackling record s a horror story and in essence he kills backline play. His kicking record is horrendous - the reason why he hands over ball possession to the opposition on average 2 times per match. Has a serious speed deficiency and a slower thinking ability. The backline of the Sharks this year in the main misfired constantly because of the presence of Steyn - one incident in one match does not take that away.
In essence both Steyns are not suitable at 10 and neither should even be a consideration in any position in the Springbok team. Nobody should select those two liabilities, since neither of the two can read games properly and constantly takes the wrong decisions because they play according to pre-match instructions and cannot grasp when to change that. As long as we have players like the Steyn's - both poor ball handlers - in our backline the Springbok backline will misfire - so change is necessary.
JJ is not a suitable 13 - he brings nothing to attack and his defense - though improved this year - remains suspect. I think that a better all-round players is required at 13.
I like the back row selection - we cannot continue with low work rate players like Alberts whose contribution to the game is generally seriously defective. He loafs through matches and standing around at the back of mauls hoping that the ball would come to him and then have 2 meter ball carries to prove how powerful he is and he invented the Treeby tackle syndrome.

I heard one of the Kiwi commentators mention on Saturday that Fats Steyn has turned more ball over than anyone else in the competition. Something like 17 turn overs this season so far.
Now I ask you, why would anyone in his right mind want that kind of liability in the national team??
It seems the senile Faggot with his turkey neck has lost the plot altogether.

Cleancut
Statistically Fatso was responsible for possession turn- over of 24 balls thus far this season. He also gave away 11 penalties - so the negatives are in fact 35 ball possession losses.
Why do you think Mozart refuses to use the stats of Steyn - because it blows his piss poor idea about Steyn out of the water.

CleanCut first off settle lol, second who are you refering too, because at least 3-4 ppl have posted. If you dont like the team thats fine, but alot of loosies can play both sides of the scrums these days. Even if Marcel cant, oh well my knowledge of SA rugby aint as gd as NZ rugby, but its not a big deal.

3ku1 - I was obviously referring to your team as you're the only one with strange picks at tighthead and blindside flank ... and yes ... it does make a difference. A big difference.
You would know that if you had any idea about the sport.
I can see you don't know much about South African rugby. Many of your posts make that abundantly clear.
Perhaps that's the clue needed for you to rather discuss teams and rugby players you do have a little knowledge on.
Just a thought.

Fransie is indeed the player responsible for the most turnovers as well as the most missed tackles in the comp. When you look at those stats, they do not make for great reading.
In Justin Marshall's words, "He is having a shocker this year!"It is however the business end now and some great performances from here on out will change all that. My thoughts are that he is a bit "heavy" on his feet to move either side to effect tackles. Other backs are so much quicker than him and lighter on their feet that Fransie is becoming an easy beat.
Its sad but we can not really go into a test match with a bloke who turns it over and misses tackles. I wish Fransie would be the man but unfortunately, stats on this occasion can not be ignored.

Fucken laughable again from Saffex..Close to your best side Saff, nowhere near the Boks best side..Not even close!! I only have a few issues with your side. They are at 13, 12,11,10,9,7 and 3!!
