Get a grip Allister!

Flouw ahead of Kriel I don't agree with, but Lood ahead of PSDT is due to the fact that we have no loosie cover on the bench, so PSDT offers cover there as well as at lock, lood can only cover lock. However, that said, I don't think Lood should be in the team at all based on his form.

No loose forward cover on the bench? J aco Kriel is on the bench!
18 Aug 2016, 13:39#4
louw ahead of Kriel is a joke.
18 Aug 2016, 13:43#5
Ok, I meant it like "no" loosie cover on the bench. One loose forward covering all three loose forwards is not enough. Still, you have missed my point, but just for clarity, I think Kriel and Du Toit should have started, but I am just trying to explain the rationale behind the Lood vs Du Toit decision.
Glad to see Goosen going straight into the starting position at FB. I hope he can carry his club rugby form into the international arena. H e had a raw deal with injuries when he first burst onto the scene, hopefully those days are in the past for him, because he is a very talented individual.

Coetzee said Lood is back in the picture because of Duane Vermeulen not being available. It is felt that Lead Head brings more physicality-

Kriel was totally dominated in the S15 final, but of course being a flavour of the day player, nothing was said.

Oupa, Flo & Whitey ? Lompy deLood's last game was ? Will Jantjies rediscover his mojo ? Will De Allende pass the ball ? Will Paige play for two or three minutes ? Is Habana yesterday's hero ?

Hmmm?? ... 7 players do not belong in the starting 15 ... with another 4 on the bench taking up spots that do not belong to them.
In other words, 11 of the match 23 are not there on merit. That's near on 50%.
How absurd!!
Gooooooo Argentina!!!!!!!!!

Fiddly dee, fiddly dum ....... name the 7 players .
19 Aug 2016, 09:01#11
Beast, Strauss, Lood, Mohoje, Louw, De Allende and Habana.
I haven't seen much of Goosen and so haven't included him in the list. No doubt I'll watch this fragile man carefully tomorrow and give my opinion after the match.
The bench ... Mbonambi, Paige, De Jongh and Jesse Kriel.
Happy??

Blob, did you really have to ask that? Other than Etzebeth and Goosen (who seems to be a bit grey anyway), it's all the non-Lions that Klown has a problem with.
19 Aug 2016, 10:25#14
So Redneck... clearly you rate Beast as the best loose-head in the country ... why else would you have him start? Dylan Smith is just a pretender and should rather resign himself to Lions rugby.
Strauss must also be our premier hooker so no issue there, right? Marx is so over rated anyway. Marutlulle is definitely not a prospect.
Lood and his wonderful form the last two seasons is fully deserving of his spot.
For the life of me I just can't seem to think of anyone better at 7 than Mohoje. Truly a star in South African rugby. Whatever would we do without him?
De Allende has really shown us how we should play at 12 ... how dare I favour yet another Lion ... the cheek of it ... and Habana with his oodles of experience is a no brainer.
Mbonambi, Paige and De Jongh aren't quotas ... my bad ... what was I thinking ... they're there on merit ... and Jesse Kriel has had a cracker of season so far and picks himself.

Klown, I was talking about you, not to you. Understand the difference and, in future, speak when you're spoken to.
There's a good chap.

Not a bad team, but not our best either. Verry conservative in a few positions. ..too conservative even for my liking....and even plain stupid here and there. Regardless. ...go BOKKE!

Good luck to your chaps today ,I am sure they will give a good account of themselves.

It's not even close to our best.
