Springboks blame Seagulls for loss to Japan

Seagulls and their droppings are being blamed for South Africa's remarkable defeat to Japan in the World Cup.

The Times has claimed that "team officials are reportedly furious that their training...has been disrupted by up to 100 seagulls and their seagull, shall we say, by-product."

The Springboks are training at Eastbourne College, a posh private school in Sussex. The head groundsman Richard Maryan said he had to hire a Harris hawk named George to scare away the gulls.

"We had more than 100 gulls on the pitch after we had cut the grass and they were making an horrendous mess," said Maryan, who grooms the ground by cutting the grass three times a week.

The paper said South African fans were using the seagull issue as an excuse for the loss to Japan, one of the biggest shocks in World Cup and sports history.

News update: Bok Migrant undermining NZ rugby?




In a bizarre twist a Bok supporter, Mr Beeno It's_the Refs_fault, who recently settled in NZ to undergo "reality therapy & to get rugby enlightenment" has now confessed that he hatched "a plot to undermine NZ rugby".




Inspector Wardad explained that Beeno started a small worm farm & while this was a little strange it was seen as a constructive undertaking at the time. 




He added that it was only when Beeno was appointed as junior grounds keeper at Eden Park & unleashed 1000s of worms to "soften the fields" that we realized it was a diabolical Guy Fawkes like plot. It was also revealed that Beeno had not been keeping his appointments with Dr Cloudy so his link with reality is very tenuous. 




Detective Susuke San was the one to figure it all out said Wardad. He concluded, "Don't worry, I will make sure this fella will get his comeuppance".
