Kriel scores, try is good. I thought Kriel was marginally ahead when looking at the top of their bodies, but their feet looked relatively on the straight line

DDA now loses the ball in contact, Italy off the hook although they have to contend with the Boks scrum 5 out from their own line.

Superb double tackle on Eben. Boks making no ground through multiple phase bashing and now Italy gets it and clears.

Italians defending like demons, they get a yellow now though. Will probably cost them 7 or 14 points given under how much pressure they are.

The Boks will get better as the match goes. Lots of musical chairs, so not a settled team yet in terms of combinations.

Wiese making more meters in contact just about every carry than we saw any NZ forward do this morning.

Our midfield still doesn't do enough to pin the defense, straighten the line and create space wide. Those fast passes just allow the defense to drift you out of options against the touchline.

28-3 halftime. No real contest, Boks just wearing the Italians down with the power game without doing anything special.

The Boks are playing so well in certain facets of the game that it is carrying them in areas where they are not doing well. The breakdown is a concern. No clean multi-phase possession. No fetcher in the back row.

These second team matches are a farce. Disappointing after 7 months without internationals
