Springboks vs Legacy Springboks game in the late 90s/early 2000s

Firstly congrats to the Springboks for dominating the world cup final 2019!!!

I'm trying to recall a game that was played maybe late 90s but thinking more early 2000s. It was played by players from one of the older springboks team which included the infamous Danie Gerber, and played against current springbok team at that time which might have included John Smit but can't recall. The legacy team actually ended up winning the game!

Does anyone recall what year it was played and if there's even a video out there of the game?

No idea where you'd get footage of that game unless you find an obsessive rugby collector.

Gerber played his last game in 1992. I know of no such game, but I know there was a two test invitational side that played the Boks in '89. You'll have a very hard time trying to find footage of any "legacy" game if it did occur. 

I definitely recall something like that, just a friendly game, can't remember if it was to raise funds or whatever. If you find footage of it though it will probably be on a dusty old VHS tape in somebody's garage.

I'm digging around for this, but can find nothing! The only other game I can think of was the unlisted game between the Bok A and B teams for WC '95. No Gerber. I'll keep looking. 

If you can locate this obscure little game, the Kruger millions is next on your to-do list Wasn't anything like a big game, just a bunch of old Boks still in playing shape against more recent or current Boks, whatever the case was. This was well after Gerber's retirement if I recall correctly.

Maybe Rooinek or Mike or some of the older enthusiasts here also recall it.

I've found more obscure things, so I'll keep looking for this one. If I do eventually find anything I'll open a new thread.
