-----

Two more warm up games left. Already seen a lot of players drop out either due to injury or discipline.

The boks have 3 key players out in AM, Lood and Pollard.

Yet, we still have no idea who our starting team will be. There are still some players that are short of game time.

On player in particular is Williams. We also have new combinations to think of and which player will move to 13 if Kriel get crocked.

Do we play our first picks or don't we?

Should they blend the team, with 7 being fringe player or dirt trackers, and they other 8 being first choice, with the other first choice being on the bench?

I definitely want to see a combo of Esterhuizen and Kriel, De Allende and Kriel and we need to find a 13 that can cover Kriel if he gets injured. Not De Allende.

Here is who I think should start the Wales test with Sub on the side

  1. Ox (Haven't played any test this year) - Kittshoff
  2. Bongi - Marx
  3. Trevvva (Need to play at tightwad to justify his spot) - Malherbe
  4. Kleyn - Etzebeth
  5. Mostert (Last chance to redeem himself)
  6. Kolisi - Kwagga
  7. PSDT
  8. Vermeulen
  9. Williams (need to test him as a starter) - Faf
  10. Libbok (Need more game time) - Willemse
  11. Moodie
  12. Dud - Esterhuizen
  13. Kriel
  14. Kolbe
  15. Le Roux

Boks in the squad that still needs to prove themselves

Ox - No test to date

Kolisi - No test and coming back from severe injury

Williams, great off the bench against a shoddy Wobblies, but got KO in 10 seconds. Is he ready

Kwagga, completed ineffective during the first 5 test

Trevvva - Why on earth is he ahead of Du Toit, 34 and can't play a full game. Predicting early injury

Kwagga, who was one of the best Boks of the season thus far - as I already showed quite clearly - needs to not only start, but he'd be my choice for captain if not Etzebeth. We drastically diminish our chances without him, as we've seen thus far! There is no place for Kolisi.

The midfield is pathetic. If you are going to choose a running flyhalf, you need centres who can distribute the ball.

No Esterhuizen? If Rassie continues with a 6/2 split, we are going to see Esterhuizen peeling oranges.
In the 2 games this season the Boks played well - it was with Libock and Esterhuizen combined at 10-12.
There is no doubt that Esterhuizen is better at getting his backline running.
I am so tired of Delande, and now he has the predictable Kriel on his outside.
A better team with a 5/3 split. (This is not a first-choice team, but close enough).
The likes of Eztebeth and Vermuelen can be rested.

15 Willie le Roux
14 Kolbe
13 Canan Moodie
12 Esterhuizen
11 Adrense
10 Manie Libbok
9 Jaden Hendrikse
8 Jasper Wiese
7 Pieter-Steph du Toit
6 Siya Kolisi (c),
5 RG Snyman,
4 Jean Kleyn,
 3 Frans Malherbe,
2 Malcolm Marx,
1 Steven Kitshoff.

Subs: 16 Bongi Mbonambi, 17 Ox Nche, 18 Vincent Koch, 19 Franco Mostert, 20 Marco van Staden, 21 Duane Vermeulen, 22 Grant Williams, 23 Damian Willemse

Two players to play their first games in more than 4 months.

Hendrikse and Kolisi, Ox to come off the bench

This is actually a really good squad.

RG and Kleyn picked to start ahead of Estebeth and Orie.

Kitshoff, Marx and Malherbe to start, ox coming off the bench.

Kolisi to start for the first time in 4 months. Expect Van Staden and Duane to come on together.

Mostert on the bench.

So they have gone for a 5/2 split again. I'm getting so tired of this bomb squad.

I just don't think we should have 4 players trying to get match fitness so close to the World Cup.

Wish the Currie cup or something was running so that they can be assessed properly.

Now we are rushing to get players fit.

Really happy about Kleyn and RG ….Eben is getting saved, which is good..Centre pairing is not good enough as proven over the years….It should be 12. Esterhuizen 13. Willemse/ DDA…Kollisi will most probably not play the whole match…big Question mark around fitness and Form….I would put van staden there….otherwise not a bad team.

Kollisi said in a interview with Supersort, that they are definitely not going to try and Win this WC with the Gameplan of 2019….that is a positive plan, only needs action….whatever happens will happen….this is WC so go Bokke and do your thing!

The tight 5 looks good. Will be interesting to see how the scrum goes. Malherbe needs to prove his form. Hopefully, he gets fitter as the season progresses.

Libbok hasn't had a good game yet. There is never a greater red flag than the words "running flyhalf". This bozo runs alright, like a headless chicken.

This is likely to be the closest to the final team. If no new systems are going to be implemented, then it's a waste of time playing the first team at all. Zero good tests thus far, with zero indication of any evolution to our game. It's all been a waste of time.

"Libbok hasn't had a good game yet. There is never a greater red flag than the words "running flyhalf". "

That's because he isn't a running FH...he's a passer, like DMAC...I really can't understand why an analyst like you don't see it...Manie ulocks the defense by timing and directing his passes to perfection...a very rare skill...but he needs game time to build confidence...should have had 10 more tests to his name by now...and he doesn't kick that bad...the Argie stadium is no measure...but get someone else to kick...Manie's magic is in his pass

Agreed Draad…Manie is a brilliant distributor but definitely needs to build up more confidence in his role as Bok pivot….so give the Guy a break he has not been there that long.

Libbok is not a test quality flyhalf. Any honest assessment of these performances will draw that conclusion. I've been challenged on a number of issues this season, and whenever the magnifying glass comes out, we see the karp swimming and drowning in egg. The red flags are there, but the karp, as always, don't want to see it. Looking at the lineup that'll likely be our first team, we are going to field the worst ever Bok backline at a WC. Worst overall lineup ever as well.

Pollard is injured, Elton is undercooked and to be Frank, he never really lived up to his hype as a Bok Starter ….Who else then? Would you play Willie instead? A guy that is a Crucial link in our back 3 Attack and coordination…Libbok is certainly the inform Flyhalf for our URC season and therefore the best bet we have now….so after 7 outings it will be premature to deem him unfit at test level….how many caps did it take Kwagga to settle as a Test player and be of Test Quality?? Definitely more than 7 caps…he was not test quality in the beginning but grew in confidence and now punching above his weight.

Jantjies was good before his off field issue - has always been a class act that has never been invested in other than by Ackerman and Rassie as Pollards backup Jantjies should definitely have been in the squad ahead of one of the 4 scrumhalves selected. There is absolutely NO reason a squad should contain 4 scrumhalves, particularly when the squad only contains one specialist inexperienced flyhalf struggling to nail his kicks

Jantjies is by far the better option. This is likely to be a decision that bites Erasputin in his rotund rear section.

H ow many caps did it take Kwagga to settle as a Test player and be of Test Quality?

Two.

Then why the Hell was Jantjes in the Squad and not used?? His goal kicking is good yes, but it has been a long time since playing on the big stage…it’s a bit of a long shot thinking that he will just come back and perform to his best abilities….I might be wrong.

It's an even longer shot in hoping that Earl Rose leads us to glory. Especially given that he has, to date, zero good games.

I still cant believe how poor the midfield is. I never wanted a combination of Delande and Kriel.
If Esterhuizen is not even on the bench, it looks certain that this is Rassies preferred combination
