One of the main points is that the Boks commit fewer players to the ruck and put more forwards out wide like Kolisi and Steph Dutoit.

I did notice that the rucks were different than usual. Often only one player commits to the ruck allowing more players to run onto the ball when the scrumhalf passes from the base.

Tony Brown developed an attack plan designed for Japan that suits smaller forwards - but many coaches around the world copied the plan. Now brown is adapting the Bok plan - but to play behind big forwards.

Dave

There are site members who do not realze that their deficient knowlege of rugby turn them into clowns.

Squidge has no clue:

So, who does Squidge think will win the Rugby World Cup? He says that no one really has any idea. For him, only Australia under Eddie Jones and Wales under Warren Gatland have a real shot at making the final from the weaker side of the pool. He says either team could win it all, the Wallabies would need a tactical masterclass from Jones, whereas he thinks Wales could win “playing the most boring rugby ever seen,” although he admits that he may be saying that mostly because he is Welsh.

When pressed for an answer Squidge said he sees New Zealand with the best chance of winning (again, before they were mauled by South Africa). He says it feels like the All Blacks would be the side “most comfortable getting to the final,” while exerting the least emotion. He says that France and Ireland are the other title contenders, but he says the emotional drain could take a toll on France and Ireland has a very tough run to the final.’

He mentions Scotland, Wales, NZ, Ireland and France as possible WC winners. He doesn’t even mention the Boks. Clueless, with our forwards we are always in with a chance. Squidge clearly has a very limited grasp of the game. He can push his little dots around but understands nothing about the competitive landscape.

Squidge may have been trying to cover too many bases with his WC predictions, but his analyses are always insightful. Also easier to watch now that he has slowed down just a tad from his roadrunner antics so you can actually follow along without pausing every 3 seconds.

Today's game should be a cracker.

Sharktwit I mentioned Faf was not being protrd at the breakdown due to fewer forwards being committed.

Always pay close attention to what Beeno posts sharktwit.

Squidge seems a pretty confused guy and not that great at predictions? Leaving the Boks out as contenders was some blunder.

I didn't watch the entire thing but every time I fast-forwarded and stopped, Pieter-Steph du Toit was making a massive contribution somewhere on the field and I was reminded of what a critical player he is for the Springboks . . . not to mention a chuckle at the thought of those rugby noobs who can't see his value.

An interesting watch. Brown's adaptable pods mixing backs and forwards made our backline look better than it has done in years in just the first few minutes of that test.

I'm quite excited by the sudden change and expect us to improve and give Ireland a proper klap this time.

Go Bokke!

"Good call by Squidge any one of SA, NZ, France and Ireland going into the WC were candidates to win it." FFS Dave, nobody on this board thought any differently. lol who else could you mention? Scotland, Wales...maybe Australia? Again, can anybody on this board who thought one of those teams may win it, raise their hand? There was minimal and fleeting suggestion that maybe, at very slim odds, Scotland may go far...but that's about it. Good call...LOL.

I fell off of SQ a little because he does tend to make the facts fit his narrative a little. But I do appreciate and support these independent commentators. Mainly because they are allowed to say things that TV channel talking heads aren't and they often provide far more in depth analysis. Big Jim is somewhere between the two but probably my favourite at the moment. Though he doesn't do as much analysis, his interview style and his general manner are very watchable. Yet another avenue where decentralisation adds value to something. In a Carlsberg world, you drive to the game in a Merc. The commentators are English, the post game dinner is Italian...and of course, all the woman are Spanish. Long live the internet!!! Haha lekker Saturday chaps.

What Squid is good in is analysis of what happened during games - if he does not predict  winners does not mean he cannot analyze what is happening during matches,   So you want to claim he does not relate to perfofmance analyze of matchers - so your above effort to claim he cannot be trusted in match abalyzing is pure and utter horse manure.
