Blues came out with a lot of energy and ambition but over the course of the first half it was smashed out of them. Crusaders backline shut down the Blues, led by Carter who was everywhere on defense. Forwards dominated set pieces and contact situations making it impossible for Blues to get good ball. Patient and disciplined play.
Slippery conditions favored the Crusaders style but still, every other team in Super Rugby was just put on notice. McCaw possibly rejoining as well.
Bulls and Reds have the ability to challenge with good flyhalf play and strong set pieces.
