I have a question for our resident self-proclaimed board statisticians . . . and everyone knows who I am talking to.

Where does Rassie's status as only the second Springbok coach to beat New zealand in 4 consecutive test matches rank as a statistic?

Is it a relevant statistic?

Is it worthy of respect?

Talking of stats, where can I find stats for the game? ESPN's match reports don't have stats anymore, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Their website is a maze.

Yes it’s suddenly not available. The newspapers are quoting numbers so stats have to be available, but I haven’t found anything so far.

After Snôrre's 3 in a row, way back in 2009, we only beat the Allblacks twice in 17 matches until Rassie was appointed in 2018...9 very dry years...let that sink in...what a turnaround...cherry op die koek is that after that dismal 9 years Rassie's first match vs NZ, is a victory in NZ nogal...all just luck according to some...

A maze that you and Moffie should enter.

Go into the labyrinth and find the stats you seek . . . and get lost.

Let it sink in…..this is a very poor AB team by historical standards. Good AB teams don’t lost to Argentina in NZ.

Rassie's Springboks will be regarded as one of the all time great teams in history.

Statistics confirm this.

Back to back RWC titles nails it in.

I didn't always like Rassie or rate him but he proved me wrong. I admit not always believi ng in Rassie.

But imagine being the fool who STILL doesn't accept this as an all time golden Springbok generation and something we as a nation can still be the best in the world at . . .

Another simplistic attempt at debate, replete with the usual silly insults. Let me explain. I accept this is a generationally great Bok team. Players like Marx, Etzebeth, Vermeulen, Pollard and Kolbe are legends. But others like Malherbe, Faf, Willie, Mostert and even Dud Toit were very effective in our WC finals.

And because Rasmus’ predecessors assembled them as a team when they were young, the team had time to get over the teething phase and gel.By WC 2023 these players had a mental edge and cohesion.

Now we get to the contradiction. If we have a generationally great team, better than all our rivals, why did we win the WC with 3 one point victories. You don’t win by one point three games in a row without an huge dollop of luck.

And why have we drawn with Ireland and struggled mightily to beat an unsettled NZ team at home.

There is only one logical conclusion if we have the best players….and that is that our tactics don’t allow for dominance, more for arm wrestles.

And that comes back to the coach who got gifted this team of greats. Clearly he has helped rebuild our forward strength and dominant defense. But he has failed over 7 years now to create an attacking model, relied on centers who are mainly defenders and been happy to win off the maul and Pollard’s boot.

And this hasn’t changed this year. Against strong opponents the scrum penalty and subsequent maul are still our most reliable source of tries. So some may think Rasmus is a genius, but simple logic says a brilliant coach with this cast of players would have shown clear superiority over our opponents. At best we have shown we are a Pollard boot better.

Rooinek, asseblief man, go easy on the Mushroom, you forget he's a serial flouncer......if he cries off again it will be either his 4th or 5th besides that the tough talking pretender has some serious mental issues.
