has to be included in the home leg of the RC, had another physical performance for the Sharks today and has such good touches for a big guy. He has that x factor.

Good to see Marcel Coetzee back to his running best. SP Marais at fullback looks a test quality fullback and I like the look of Williams at 12.

Ntembu had another good game at 7 and Peet Marais at 4 looks like one for the future.

Coetzee remains one dimensional and will never get anywhere unless he improves his skills set. I thought Du Toit was quiet but given his lay off that was to be expected.

Good to see Reinach back. That Sharks flyhalf is also useful. Has a good rugby player. Cooper was good as well. Wee Daniles is amust as a back - how daft it is that he has played his rugby as a foward. Make a nice inside center.

A couple of observations about the CC games this weekend. * The player of the weeknd was Marnitz Boshoff - really was phenominal. * SP Marais also had an excellent game at full back. * Pieter-Steph du Toit was good and is a hard nut to crack. Very good in defence and line outs. Carried the ball well when required. * Although in the losing side Labuschagne was much better in all facets of the game than Marcel Coetzee. That include ball carries - ball handling and defence. However Coetzee also had a good game in general. * Zeilinga was very good at flyhalf - a really good thinking youngster. * The Jantjies brothers had a very few good touches - but was in general poor. Unless the kicks were from direct in front - both Jantjies brothers buggered up kicks at goal. Silky Hands was poor in passing balls and useless in defence - even his brother ran over him. * Jacques du Plessis has a long way to go before he would be international material. I am really seeing some very good performances this weekend - but the WP - Griquas game was played in horrible weather - so bad that there was ice on the western side of Table Mountain. Lots of handling errors spoilt the game to some extent. The other two games were very good - both from an attacking and defensive perspective. I still do not think why we had some duds in the Springbok squad. with the players we actually have at present in the various squads. Hope Meyer wakes up and look at improvement in his squad. .

Beenkop stop speaking kak, Coetzee was not one dimensional, his skill set is as good as any other loosie........he won the MOM not for being one dimensional you fool.

Steph du Toit was anything but quiet, what bloody game were you watching.

Mike you are speaking utter crap regarding Jantjies, he was anything but poor - he was damn good again.....Elton that is.

du Plessis was as good as Steph du Toit, put in the hits, cleared the rucks well and put in some good metres.......he is wasted at 7 though as he is not a 7

Saffex Do you count knocking on balls and poor passes as good? His defence was poor as well. Jantjies attempted to make one break himself ending in nothing - but for the rest he was passing the ball - nothing worthwhile at all. And he missed kicks at goal; - unless they were straight in front of the posts. I would rather have given the kicking duties to Boshoff - who showed real class today. Jantjies was in fact poor - end of story.

snapster please wake up! Compare Coetzee to a rread. Coetzee is of course more physical but Read offers a lot more skillwise.ies the guy ever off load decently> No he needs big improvements re his skills set.

As for Steph one also wonders if he is fully fit yet. Great prospect but probably only coming on line next year . One could however take him on the year end tour and play him off the bench to build experience.

Jantjies as always was a mixed bag - but overall played better for the lions than he had for the Stormers. Remember of course that Currie Cup rugby is a level down so its easier. As Mallet so wisely said one needs to see him perform consistently well at Super 15 level before he can be considered for higher honours.

Please wise up snapster.

Thanks

This is the CC minus the Bok squad. My view is Pieter Stephanie ain't ready and Marcel will never be ready.

Stephanie needs to get a few man of the match in SuperXV games to be sure he is ready. He will be a springbok but why rush the guy especially given he has just returned from injury.

Let him earn his spot and be physically ready and not scarred like a Gaffie Du Toit when played to early.

He can find his feet at senior level in the Curry Cup, then start to dominate at SuperX then call him up

Mozart With respect - since you apparently have not watched the game - is this prejudice speaking again? Since Kruger and van der Merwe brings virtually nothing to the game - why keep them in the Springbok match day team?

Oom I'm sure Du Toit will get hia chance as soon as he is ready, provided he doesn't hurt himself before then. But I thought Lood was your man a few weeks back....honestly I can never predict which school boy you will be championing each week.

Mozart Sorry to disappoint you - but I have always been a supporter of Du Toit ahead of anybody else to be Etzebeth's partner. I did support Saffex's idea to play De Jager ahead of Kruger and Van der Merwe whilst Du Toit was injured? We have some real beauts in the Springbok squad. I mentioned Van der Merwe and Kruger - why no comments from You on those two? And then we have the useless Alberts and Kirchner as well. I hope Meyer makes some changes to his squad - otherwise another loss against the All Blacks at Ellis Park is inevitable.

DomMike right now Jantjies is by far the best 10 in the CC Beenkop, not many loosies are as dynamic at Read you plonker........Coetzee will be a Bok for many years, he is the future. Steph du Toit was great on Sat, great enough to walk straight back in the Bok squad - enough said. He needs to walk straight into the starting side alongside Etzebeth........has as much physicality as Flip but is just a far smarter player with skill

Saffex You really make yourself look stupid with your adherence to Jantjies. Jaantjies game varies from incredibly bad - through mediocre and a very rare showing of good play. On average he is a shit performer - even on CC level. Zeilinga is by far the best flyhalf at present playing on CC level. Must say the competition is not very strong - with Coetzee picking Coleman at flyhalf - so ypou are really comparing Jantjies to a collection of palookas. Say he is coming second in the palooka stakes

DomMike as Moz says, your takes are predictable garbage..........Jantjies has been in great form, he plays it flat and puts his backs into space.....as he did with Boshoff's break........but you are too stupid to comprehend these very facts.

Zeilinga is bog ordinary, he will never progress beyond CC level.

Right now on current form, Lambie would be my starting 10 with Jantjies my back up......beats the hell out of plodder Morne

Saffex Now be serious - Jantjies was a complete flop in Super 15 this year - so much so that the Stormers would not touch him with a bargepole. He was a flop in the Soweto test - no he was disastrously poor - to say the least. How can you seriously think of him on Springbok level - when he is at best average on CC level. To be quite frank - he was good on under 20 level - but did not develop at all when competing against older players. I think his regular knock-ons in games - his ridiculously poor passing, which is often enough wildly inaccurate - has to do with his mindset. Something is wrong in his top storey. If you dispute what I said about him - just watch yesterdays game again and do yourself the favour of thinking how he flopped against the Crusaders this year and in the Soweto test last year. Add to that that his defence varies between poor and non-existent - then you have a complete picture. He was the weakest flyhalf in Super 15 this year - I would not have him anywhere near any Super 15 team and he is a dodgy selection on CC level. Sprinmgbok team - never ever if you want to win the game.

Jantjies was not a flop in Soweto that is a complete lie.........as for the Stormers, well the whole side was a flop all S15 so not sure what your pathetic point is really.

Coetzee did not know how to play Jantjies, its clear the Lions know how to get the best out of him. He was stifled at the Stormers with their conservative approach.

With the Lions, Jantjies expresses himself with distinction......igniting his outside backs.......just imagine how good it would be if he had two class centres outside him at the Lions.

Wake up DomMike and get over your pathetic prejudices

Saffex If you refuse to recognize factual and fatal deficiencies in Jantjies performances - I can only say dream on. Just as long as he is not in a team I support - they are welcome to him

It wont be long before he is back in the Bok squad.......the way the Lions are playing at the moment, they will be giving the Stormers a snot klap next S15

The only garbage I read is your pathetic childish prejudice against Jantjies............you are not man enough to acknowledge he is playing good rugby at the moment....I take it you watch the games with the volume muted as the commentators keep praising Jantjies game after game.....it must really piss you off.

So are you saying that Stransky and co are lying when they say Jantjies is in great form and that he is responsible for igniting his outside backs. He is attacking the gain line, playing it flat and creating space for his backs..........look no further than him putting Boshoff into space. Your take on Jantjies present form has stuff all to do with facts and everything to do with the childish prejudice you harbour against him - now that is a FACT
