FH Steyn 0/0 18 15/16/8 42 1 1 0 1 7/0 1/0 0 0/0 - Just for the record. Morne kicked 15 times....often from the back. Passed 16 times and ran the ball 8 times, with a clean break, to record 42 metres. He also made all his 7 tackles.....I think the lad looks considerably stronger in the upper body. To my mind that's pretty balanced. Hell he even won a lineout.

Wonderful stats - he was at the back waiting to collect balls - so his distance covered can easy ne 40 meters if it happened 5 times and that is also where he got the ball through a quick line out throw Wondeful stats - but it does not indicate where he buggered up badly - now does it? The lad may look stronger - but why the brain implosions when under pressure - and even when not under pressure. That final kick that gifted a try to the Brumbies - was that part of the good judgement you lauded so much? He did not play a game that could in any way be descried as effective. Because he was useless - out comes the stats which a certain gentlemen uses only when he wants to justify one of his favourites. Another skyscraper - he looks stronger in the upper body - any proof of that by any chance? Or is it just another wild unsubstantiated statement in line with bog ordinary tackles that became bone-crushing tackles?

The numbers have spoken.....although I have yet to get a list incidents, other than the silly drop which I concur was poor, that indicate a brain implosion.

Still no comment about that kick I so graphically referred to. Why not - Mozart - have you missed that one completely? So :"the numbers has spoken" - but they don't speak when it comes to players like De Jongh and Alberts. Why do they speak in this case and in other cases they are being ignored? Explanation please.

Are you talking about the last kick where Morne reached up and brilliantly took Vermaak's pass above his head? For heaven sake if that was Lambie the ball would have been out of reach.

Mozart No it was the low kick he launched that the brumbies got and scored their try, Steyn was under no pressure and he launched one of his worst relieving kicks - or for that matter one of the worst kicks of that latter I have seen from a school or second team flyhalf in the game. ignoring the kick again - not a word mentioned about it - standard Mozart style. Steyn flopped and a reason for the flop ha to be invented. Nice try - but it does not wash.

I see the bulle loss is being blamed on Morne. Ou maaikie having a brain implosion. Last year it was the Meyer selecting bulle players now its Morne loosing the match by 1 point.

Get real ou maaaikie Morne had a good game. If the bulle had won as they should have done you would not be talking like this. You are venting your frustration and finding a scape goat.

Beeno Go and watch the game again and come back and tell me how you come to Morne having had a good game. Just dot down carefully everything he did and you will definitely find numerous reasons for declaring him having had a shit performance - to put it mildly. He virtually gifted possession to the Brumbies that ultimately let to them scoring the final try of the match - that was just the last of a long list of poor decisionmaking and performance.

Don't be silly Mike, the pass was high from Vermaak, he took it with one hand, he was outside the 22 under pressure and only just managed to get the kick away, there were 6 phases from that kick to when the Brumbies scored and you're trying to pin it all on Morne?

Morne's not the greatest flyhalf going around, but he sure as hell didn't play as poorly as you're trying to make out...you can no longer be objective on Morne Steyn.

I am still a little dronk and very babelaas.  After the weekend's games I read a few threads on here and it is quite clear that there are some good rugby brains on this site and then there are some others.

Funny that us SA guys have to be corrected on many occasions by an "outsider" Poi-e.  Mr. Mozart takes some flak from time to time from some of the posters but he really is quite good and mostly devoid of emotion.  The Bulls lost, live with it!  The Bulls did not lose because of Morne or Hougaard or the kak frontrow or the lightweight locks or this or that.

The Bulls were too stupid to analise the Cheetah game, instead they followed an exact pattern, the one that sank the Cheetahs.  Collectively the team with coaching staff should take the blame.  More so the senior players who agreed with the "captain" to kick into the corners not once but more and they were countered by a team with superior coaching.  The coach took off the only loosie that was making any sense (J. Potgieter).

Bulls mistakes:  Firstly the wrong captain.  Pathetic first phase play.  Incorrect players selected for starting.  The starting props were pathetic.  Bulls have lost their lineout mojo, big time.

If we can blame Morne for something it is him listening to the "captain" on the day.  A flyhalf should take control.  Ludeke - need I say more.

The Bulls were beaten by a team who used their oppertunities and were coached by superior coaching staff.  The Brumbies had the Bulls down to a T and played on the weak points and blocked the Bulls' rolling maul.

Well done Brumbies and Jake and Fisher....But the Chiefs will win it for a second consecutive year..

I dont get you saffers you guys always shit all over your best players. morne hasnt really done much wrong since he come on the scene in 09. and you ever wonder why the bulls made those decisions? because they knew tghat they were losing the battle on the ground and getting slaughtered at kickoffs. its like the england decision last year not to go for the corner because they knew theyd lose the lineout. the bulls annd england decision heavily criticized but if you put aside the emotion you see that it was not an easy decision to make and with factts at hand in the moment the ones made were the better ones but things dont always work out and its a tribute to just how tough the brumbies were the crack.
