I do not know how the Stormers are going to do in Saturdays game.   Habana, Etzebeth and Kitshoff is being rested.    No real surprises otherwise in the backline aand Van der Merwe is playing in Habana's place.    Backline is as follows:-

15   Pietersen

 14  Aplon

 13  De Jongh

  12  De Villiers

  11  van der Merwe

  10  Grant

   9   Duvenhage

However, it is amongst the forwards where there was some surprises.   Kolisi is moved to 8 interesting selection - interesting move.

The forwards are as follows:

1   Carstens

2   Fourie

3  Malherbe

4  Stenkamp

5  Bekker

6   Holmes

7   Armand

8  Kolisi

On the bench :

16  Liebenberg

17  Harris

18  Roux

19  Sinclair

20  Schreuder

21  Francis

22  Habana

How is this team going to go after most of the players rested for three weeks?

From what I've read there only resting the three players mentioned for this one week.

Also, I'm hoping their not taking this game to lightly. The Lions are a Super Rugby team, and if you make mistakes, or don't play at a high level, even they can make you pay. That bench is very strong though.

I think Sinclair coming off the bench is better for him. Bring him on with 25-30 minutes to go. He can keep the physical play up, and be able to keep up a little better. His fitness isn't at  playing a whole game in Super Rugby.

Going to be interesting to see how these combinations work - especially loose forwards. Shaping up to be a trap game for the Stormers - lets hope not.

Bekker and Grant need to play their way into the Bok setup.

Have a feeling De Villiers is going to be a shadow of what we saw in the England tests. He's gotta be tired

the lions have been going through so many in house dramas lately, that the stormers should smash the lions.
the pressure from the kings, the john mitchell debacle, loss of sponsors, there really is no excuse for this stormers to not only win this, but get their first 4try bonus point of the season.

Jean is detemrined to win his one and speaks of the Mighty Stormers being on brink of something special and of the great vibe at training. Given their superb win at Loftus this may not be the usual mouthing off we often hear from captains and coaches.

Of great interest will be Kolisi at number 8. Nice pace so he could be worth watching.

The Stormers are clearly going to run theball. Kolisis at 8, Deon Fourie starting and a very nice looking backline. Just hope the weather will be fine.

Go Stormers its time to get  a 5 pointers.
