The Stormers seemed disengaged for much of today's game. It was the kind of game that the old WP teams would regularly lose....often after beating the best.  The whole thing was punctuated by two world class blunders by two of the team's senior players.

Joe Pietersen was the author of the first when he didn't even try to catch a deep kick and then trotted back to dot down the ball. Only a high bounce prevented the Kings player who hurried behind him from touching it first. Next he kicks off into touch. Those two moments perfectly captured why this otherwise talented player, can't be trusted at Bok 15.

Then Habana, with a miserable game fully won....almost lets the Kings back into it, by attempting a quick throw in to a Stormer, with a Kings player right next to him in the in goal area. It was perhaps the worst quick throw in ever in rugby  history. Habana  had an otherwise great game.....but that was a shocker.

So you would know that Newlands is the wettest in South Africa next to Patricia Lewis's underwear. You can't blame them taking the considerations of how heavy heavy Newlands get underfoot. Also before the cock up by Habana he did it and made a good counter. Unfortunatetly he thought his supporting player was a back not a prop. 2nd time it did not work but we are so critical or high risk rugby in SA yet we moan every week about try acoring or lack of of it ib our teams.

I played on Newlands in wet conditions and I doubt it's changed much.  That has zero to do with de Allende coming inside with an overlap outside him or with Habana, who I think is a terrific player, throwing a shocking feed. I guarantee you Habana recognizes the error and will be more cautious next time.
