Players from the DHL Stormers invited to the final Planning Camp: Andries Bekker, Brok Harris, De Kock Steenkamp, Deon Carstens, Deon Fourie, Duane Vermeulen, Eben Etzebeth, Frans Malherbe, Nick Koster, Nizaam Carr, Quinn Roux, Rynhardt Elstadt, Schalk Burger, Siya Kolisi, Steven Kitshoff, Tiaan Liebenberg, Wicus Blaauw.

Forwards:

Backs: Burton Francis, Byran Habana, Danie Poolman, Dewaldt Duvenhage, Gary van Aswegen, Gerhard van den Heever, Gio Aplon, Jean de Villiers, Joe Pietersen, Juan de Jongh, Louis Schreuder, Marcel Brache, Nick Groom, Peter Grant.

That looks like basically the whole stormers squad. He clearly wants to keep all his options open.

He has even invited Nick Groom and Marcel Brache, although I don't see JP du Plessis there.

Quinn Roux made it, hell there are more players invited than are in the current squad.

Yeah makes no sense that JP du Plessis has not made it, much like Bresler not making it from the Sharks.

Good to see Quinn Roux there, he is a far better lock than Steenkamp

Ye she seems to hav emissed DAve's pick re du Plessis but has picked up on Roux.

All this means very little perhaps other than to motivate the guys

Given some of the strange selections like Francis and Brache, what it does do to players like Bresler and JP du Plessis is tell them just how far out of the frame they are. Meyer has slipped up here, for if you are going to effectively invite most players from a squad then dont make the mistake of leaving out 2 promising youngsters like JP and Bresler

I have to agree with Saffex, glad to see that JP Du Plessis decided to come back to SA. Watched a video clip of the kid and I can see why a rugby league team was so keen to snap him up.

JP probably now regrets returning and I bet Bresler's agent is looking at overseas clubs as we speak. Very shortsighted of Meyer and co
