Just when you thought the Stormers might be in a bit of a pickle with their front row, there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Despite Sazi Sandi hobbling off in the recent whitewash against the Scarlets, the prognosis isn’t as grim as initially feared. The big man might just make it in time for the upcoming clash against Zebre in Parma this Saturday.

It seems the rugby gods might not be as furious as we thought. Dawie Snyman, the Stormers' backline coach, eased fans’ fears with some hopeful news.

“We think Sazi will be OK,”

Snyman revealed. It turns out Sandi’s foot injury, courtesy of being stepped on during the game, isn't the season-ender it could have been. “His foot was stepped on, and we feared it was a ligament or a bone in his foot that was damaged, but the scan shows that there is no serious damage,” Snyman explained.

While Sazi Sandi’s participation in Saturday’s game isn’t set in stone, the outlook seems promising. “We’ll keep monitoring him this week, but the signs are good,” said Snyman, keeping the suspense just a tad. If Sandi isn’t up to scrumming duties by game day, the Stormers might call upon the youthful zest of Zachary Porthen to start, with new recruit Hencus van Wyk warming the bench as backup.

In other team news, the Stormers are keeping their backline arsenal sharp and ready. Springbok flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and utility back Damian Willemse are sticking with the squad this week. However, they will be missing the slick services of scrumhalf Cobus Reinach, who’s taking some time to settle back into Cape Town life.

With all eyes on Parma, the Stormers are gearing up for what promises to be an exhilarating encounter, hopefully with their full arsenal at the ready. The team list for Saturday’s match is yet to be finalized, but with the current updates, it’s shaping up to be quite the showdown.
