Stormers team against the Hurricanes

The Stormers were piss poor against the Lions and it is clear that some adjustments need to be made against the Hurricanes.   Provided all players are fit to play I would field the following team in the game on Friday:-

15   Jaco Taute

14   Kobus van Wyk

13   Jean de Villiers

12   Damien de Allende

11   Gio Aplon

10   Peter Grant

  9   Nic Groom

  8   Duane Vermeulen

  7   Michael Rhodes

  6   Deon Fourie

  5   Rynhardt Elstadt

  4   Gerbrandt Grobler

  3   Frans Malherbe

  2   Tiaan Liebenberg

  1   Steven Kitshoff 

The Stormers better hope that all the above players are fit to play and available.   Kolisi was extremely poor in Saturday and I would start with Fourie ahead of him.   Scara Ntubeni is a light weight and problematic as a hooker.   Catrakillis had a poor day at the office on Saturday - but the service to him was very bad.

I would say that the Hurricanes have a crinkle paper forward pack and they will suffer again on Friday.   De Villiers will be just too much for Conrad Smith and De Allende was the only acceptable backline player of the Stormers on Saturday - so he should be moved to his normal position at 12.  

Despite their bad loss against the Lions - I would still say the Stormers will beat the Hurricanes id they select the above team and bot continue with Coetzee's rubbish selection on Saturday.  

The above team would have a better chance to perform

Kolisi is a must in the side.......its not negotiable........the best solution is to play Fourie at 2, not the average Liebenberg. Grobler is not even in the squad and is a lightweight.

Elstadt to stay at 4 with Ruan Botha at 5. Catrakillis to stay at 10, he was solid enough.

I agree with you about Howard on the bench - I did not make a bench selection - if I did and he is fit he is a certainty for the bench.

Kolisis - together with Carizza - was the worst performing forward of the Stormers on Saturday.   He cannot just be selected on reputation - the best way is to try and get him back to form by playing him off the bench.   They cannot award under-performance by purely keeping him in the starting line-up.

All those zeroes - 2 ball losses and a very low tackle count for an opensider con firm he was way below par. 

I can live with Catrakillis and also Ruan Botha instead of Grobler.

You don't drop a player after one average performance, when the guy was an absolute standout last year....especially considering that the whole Stormers side was pretty pathetic on Sat........wake the fuck up man

I have no ptoblem with an inform Kolisi - but the Stormers is in a desperate situation and you cannot play an out-off-form player and hope he will recover in the starting line up.  It is better to play such a player off the bench

I think Coetz3e has seen the errors of what he has done iro of the selections last week.  In his latest statement it appears that -

*   he intends to play Taute at fullback;

*   move Aplon - who was poor at full vack on Saturdat - to the wing;

*   move De Allende to center - probably no 12

*   play Steenkamp as a lock

*   since Burger was very poor - play Rhodes at 7

*   likely to play Fourie - also poor last week - at no 6

There is something wrong with Saffex - he constantly suffer from hallucinations.
