The Stormers lifted their record in Durbs to almost even....defeating the increasingly timid Guppies. When Frans' kick bounced off the crossbar and Swiel knocked on with the line at his mercy, I suppose the signs were there to see. But the winner added one last piece of irony. Taute who was pretty awful all afternoon launched a dead duck kick that the commentators had no interest in...until it went over.

Tear up the script.....hahaha.

Few Sharks enhanced their reputations.  JP was comprehensively bounced by Takikaki. Jordaan was completely invisible. The front row were good, but Botha trounced the Sharks locks.....while Carr and Vermeulen outplayed their loosies.

For the Stormers the whole backline was quiet except for one de Jongh break and the super run by Kolbe. The three fly halves Coleman, Grant and Cat were all terrible. The front row was hammered and Kolisi was somewhere else.

Carr was my MOM...he wouldn't let the Boks down, a hell of a player.

Moz it was hilarious especially after ou rooitwit chest beatings!!! Hahhahahaha
The scrum got progressively better. Kolisi was as usual anonymous but as you say Carr was good. Why Meyer didnt pick him ahead of Kolis can only be some weird SA colour thing.
Allende was good as well. Groom played his heart out. What a shock for the hapless gupppies. wenow move ahead of thme 11 to 10 in the super rcomp record.
Botha and Etzebeth will do us proud at lock next year.
Cillieirs had one of his best games and beast got little change out of him. Taute showed a surprsingly good boot - nice length on his kicks

The Sharks lost the game all by themselves.  The mindless kicking and skip passing killed the game for the Sharks.  They kicked and kicked and kicked - never dreaming of keeping the ball in hand.
The Sharks lost the game because the following experienced players were way below par:-
Francois Steyn, Willem Alberts and Jannie du Plessis.
Because of Steyn there was not a single notable backline move of the Sharks and a player like Jordaan virtually never saw the ball.   The reason for Jordaan's absence is that he must try and protect the ball in tackle situations because none of the Sharks loosies ever turn up to do that job.
Of the Bulls they made no effort throughput the game and some players did their level best to make sure the ball is lost and opportunities to score tries destroyed.      Incidentally blame Swiel for knocking on an awkwardly bouncing ball - why not mention that Steyn missed his last two kicks at goal?   Those were not all that difficult and should have been converted.   I noticed that Steyn's conversion attempts after halftime becomes lottery tickets - is it perhaps the result of his gammy knee?

I tried to make a joke about De Jongh - maybe in bad taste, but it is  an age old joke from the US one-line comedians - and now I am a scumbag.  You attacked every player you do not like in a most nasty manor - and does not hesitate to use the weirdest lies to justify your allegations - so what are you.
I am sad to see that and cannot think of any way to discuss rugby issues with an rugby illiterate.  Whenever you are cornered the insults start flowing like a torrent.  There are no one worse than you in insulting other members on this site.  I may be a scumbag according to you - but what are you?  The board dictator who believes rugby starts at the age of 30?

So Steyn is completely blameless?   Missing kicks at goal is not wrong - it is just ignored.   And losing his standard number of ball possession is not wrong - it is just standard play.   And kicking away balls mindlessly and allowing the Stormers to run back at them is not wrong?
The standard Mozart fare is evident from the followingL-
"But the winner added one last piece of irony. Taute who was pretty awful all afternoon launched a dead duck kick that the commentators had no interest in...until it went over."
Lies and rubbish Mozart can invent is illustrated in that quote.   Lets look at the stats and see how bloody lot of BS the board members have to put up with in this case. ]

Huh, while Ruan Botha was very good, the standout lock was once again Lewies.

Carr was once again excellent, how he has missed out on the Bok squad only clueless Meyer will know.

de Jongh was once again a liability in defence, Sithole beat him with ease to set up the Reinach try.

Taute needed a kick up the arse for all those pathetic kicks he launched instead of attacking.

Coetzee had a very good game as did Mtembu.

That was a poor loss by the Sharks, but it was not as pathetic as the Bulls loss to the Lions

Actaully I dont agree. The Stormers were nothing exceptional. The Sharks very, very poor. Looked nothing at all like a log topping team. The bulle on the other hand faced a Lions side playing at 120% and totally inspired.Result was typical of SA - our two sides given body blows by a team sitting on the bottom of the table and one not much higher.
May I suggest that in futur e SA sides save their best efforts for overseas sides.
That said it was a great moment when that drop went over and ou rooitwit went pop!!

^^^Exactly Beeno..Why do the SA teams that have no hope in the competition always seem to fire up for their fellow countrymen who do have hope yet they fold at the feet of the overseas teams.
I realise the whole "derby" thing but its ridiculous. If the show these guts all year, SA might have a few more teams come into consideration!
Anyway, the Stormers were bad and the Sharks were worse. It was a shit game and neither of those teams are good enough to win this comp.  Of the top 6 teams currently, I think Sharks have 24 tries all year, the Tahs 40, the Saders 35, the Brumbies 41, Highlanders 35 and the Hurricanes a massive 46.The only SA team in the 30+ region is the Cheetahs with 32.
That is simply not good enough. We are not picking up enough BP's and thats costing us every year. We are 11 tries off the pace in terms of the top 6 front runners. We are not good enough to win this competition. Sharks have won 10 games and are only a couple points up on teams that have won only 7 or 8 games.
This is why we never beat the AB's!!

On top of it the nz sides pick up bonus points regularly when the play eachother.
Now can someone expalin why a Cheetahs side year after year scores all these tries and the BIG unions (Stormers, Sharks and Bulle) less so. The Stormers have to be complimented on improving their attack considerably. Why did that happen. A change in mindset. Sa sides need to get the balance right. Our defence is usually good. Now get the attack going.
However look at the Bok selections. Du Preez is no longer really an attacking scrummie and neither is Pienaar. Loosies with flair like Whitely and Deon Fourie are shunned.
To play exspansive rugby you need some pace in the loose trio. Louw, Vermuelen and Alberts are certainly too slow as a combo for highveldt conditions. Putting Burger at 7 will help.We are able to field a dominant tight five once all players are fit. Therefore lighten up the loose trio a bit. Meyer however is sticking with grunt largely and it might actually pay off in NH conditions. I would like another pacy roving type of loosie in the sqaud. That person is not the ineffectual quota player Kolisi.Tell you what Kyle Cooper was the best hooker on view over the week end. Very sorry he didnt make it. His driving up of of the ball was outstanding.
The wee abs have their own problems. They need a fast loose trio for ther running game. However their weak tight five needs bolstering with some big loosies perhaps not as mobile.  Mcaaw in any event is slowing up but cannot be dropped for some reason. What to do. One watches with interest. Possibly they dont realsie they have any problems as it would appear t hey take their 100% record last year seriously. Bwahahahahhahahahaha

Beeno: it is not a good sign that you have ready access to meds but this may be a cultural thing & may explain things like the size of sa rugby  players, brain shrinkage, etc.If you chose to export your responsibilities for supporting the Mighty Stormers ok by me. As the Boks now import their rugby players I guess things will remain in balance somehow.
Congrats to the Mighty Stormers, let none diminish the value of such an heroic effort (even if aided by under performance of the sharks).

Yes it was clear the MS team was not their best but they played with the right tactics (run the ball a lot) & with heart & that is what fans expect as we cannot always have the best players or always win.
June tests will be good warm-ups for Boks & ABs.

NZ teams 4 try bonus points vs,,,
NZ - 9
SA - 11
OZ - 4

NZ teams 7pt or less losing bonus points vs,,,
NZ - 6
SA - 5
OZ - 3

as u can see from the breakdown brother beeno, NZ regularly get bonus points via the saffa teams.
the kiwi affairs are lot closer and the aussie conference with its 50+ NZ born players are the stingiest.

dont forget to thank SANZAR for the legal match fixing which sees ur teams play each other twice despite being the easiest conference by a country mile.
could u imagine the BPs NZ teams would get if we could play the saffa teams twice??? o_O

I have not the energy to read through your propaganda. Further your bonus points against Saffa teams  - exclude all bonus points where a down under ref officiated - you know why that is required. We cant be dealing with mytholog ical contrived wins etc.

I on the other hand commend your Team for playing like real men with pride for their province - it seems you have learnt something from us kiwis after all
Well done Mighty Stormers.
