I think Whitely would make a better captain. They guy is inspirational. Stauss is okay but Whitely exceptional.Away with Bongi and scurra in with Marx and Akkers!

 Beeno, Whiteley may wear down, can he handle the pounding at test level like McCaw did. I am a supporter of Whiteley, he sets a good example (22 tackles in the last game) but  I also have to ask why almost no turnovers from the back row. Are the Boks getting soft?

 JW Whitley must be used correctly. As a roving number 8. Let's get in a proper number 7 to do some real work and reduce Whitley's close quarter work.Its all rugby 101 JW! Alistair simply has no clue but he is not the only one!

I may have missed it but the two reppacement Bok props were fresh and scrummed against the the two Irish starting props, at least in that first scrum right? For me it just sucks that our main man is a reputation pick. I thought those days were gone.

 A bit of humour Plum. I'm not sure about this move either. Strauss was better yesterday, but is he the best choice? However, I feel the same way about Whiteley....an admirable guy ....but other than phase tackles, he was pretty ineffective yesterday. When England are playing Vunipola can we really afford to play Whiteley.

 Whiteley is a Skinstad type ... full of flair and running. 
We need a little more physicality at 8 ... like a Vermeulen or a Vunipola.
Throw a bone crusher in on the blindside ... like an Alberts or a Venter ... and we're good to go. Even Juan Smith would do nicely

Whiteley does hang around the back line a bit too much. But he is our best atm CC. I think so anyway. The rucks were a different story once Reds and Kriel came on. The Lions side have that balance right and I think it starts with them having two great hookers, two small yet pretty mobile and steady props and a quick back three...and Mostert who I still think is not human. It's all conjecture though man. But it looks like 70% size and 30% speed beats 100% size. That's why I rewatched a Lions game on Saturday after the Bok game. To compare rucks mainly and man putting those two games side by side it was like chalk and cheese. Faf, as quick as he is barely had time to get there and in the Lions game and the ball was ready to be shifted. I believe this buys Jantjies time and gives him options. Defence struggle to re-organise when they ngs happen at that pace. And it's exactly what nz do so well too. As usual man, just my opinion.
