The Wallies, not surprisingly, are looking undercooked. It’s actually a miracle they are only down by 5. I’m hoping they can at least make this interesting,
Strikers vs the Mine Owners
Two times Wales pound forwards in the phases with the only logical outcome a turnover, the latest one on the 5 meter line. Why can’t these teams come up with something better. Is it so hard to have a back in motion so if the timing is right….the scrum half can choose that option. At a minimum it will occupy the defence.
And Wales take the lead on an intercept try.
Then Wales stupidly give away a rolling penalty after turning over the kick off…England score.
15 minutes to go and the Wallies, stunningly, are still in the game. Go boyo!
Too many mistakes from Wales….the attack is toothless. Can they beat Italy? England looks much the same to me, perhaps a bit better in the loosies…..France will be a more reliable test.
I've only seen snippets from the Welsh lately, but that sounds like their old exhaust patterns which they used to break up the defence. It doesn't sound like they are having much success with it right now. Back in the day it was based around their three big ball carriers, especially George North and Jamie Roberts. I'm not familiar with their current group. I wouldn't be too hasty in writing their chances of a strong showing later this year, though the odds are against them.
