ED SA Rugby.net (the offical home of the Springboks) does not a have a rugby forum. It did some years ago but rooitwit misbehaved so badly they closed it down. Hahahahahahha.

I was in contact with Jurie Roux before coming here and asked him why he didnt start up the forum again ( while praying earnestly that ou  rooitwit wouldnt pitch!!) He said that having a forum had proved problematic for a number of reasons. In the end I failed to persuade him as to the error of his ways.

However I was wondering if they would mind providing visitors to their site with a link to our forum. All for the love of the game. Not sure how much traffic they get these days. We might then need more coaches for these kiwis posters etc!

Beeno, a news"content" website provides a free service but is able to monetise its business model through advertising. The lifeblood of the media is advertising and this is how any news publication first pays for its costs and then hopefully makes a profit.

If Jurie Roux from SA Rugby.net is stupid enough to push his audience of site visitors away to a competitor website then this is a good idea. It is a bit like one newspaper running a free advertisment of its competitors

Sarugby.com and sarugby.net also have history. The owner of sarugby.com purchased the domain first and this is probably why sarugby.net have a domain extension of .net and .com

This is also why sarugby.net have the word "official" blaseted all over their website.

On that note however. Ed, i don't believe you informed us here on who picked up the ownership of the site after sale? Or did I miss that one?

Sharkbok SA rugby.net is the offical SARFU website. But if they do not want a forum why not point rugby lovers in the direction of one. No skin off their back really as the more rugby fans there are the better - anything that spreads the love of the game?

Hi Ruckers

The suggestion would go down well with us.

However they would need to put an SARUGBY.COM banner on their site which would redirect their users to the Ruckers Forum.

We're not entirely sure that the suggestion would go down well with them, but its something we would be open to doing.

Thanks again.

Yours in Rugga

Ed

Well best of luck Ed.  If you don't ask you dont get. They can only say no.

Beeno given that know Jurie Roux from SA Rugby.net on a first hand basis, perhaps you should ask him if he would place the banner on their website?

Sharkbok the guy knows me from conferences we attended etc. In a case like this I dont think it appropriate for me to ask. Ed may feel the same but its in his hands.

To me its nothing ventured nothing gained but there may be other considerations.
