After half a year of waiting, the first round of Super Rugby kicks off with the Rebels vs The Force. What is that? A curtain raiser before the actual tournament starts? All they needed to do was throw the Kings into the mix and I think it may have been possible to have zero people actually watching the game.

The format is different this year to Cater for Australia to have extra time in the middle of the season in order to prepare for the British Lions

Shark, I know why they are doing it, I am just saying it is the most boring dead rubber game to start the tournament off with. I don't think anyone actually cares who wins or loses that game, cos it will make zero difference to the eventual outcome of the tournament.

bluebok, if it's so boring for you then just don't watch it. I'm amazed you need someone to explain that to you!

Is this another example of a "rugby related" posting from you . . . a whine because there's a S15 game that doesn't interest you?

Anyway, are you suggesting that the organizers cancel all "dead rubber" games that might not have an impact on the eventual outcome of the tournament? How do you think they should determine who the useless teams are? Would you feel the same if it was a Bulls vs Cheetahs game that they cancelled? Do you think Aussie viewers would be excited about an opening game between no-hopers like the Bulls and the Cheetahs?

Yo Jala, that "whoooosh" noise you just heard was the sound of my comment going over your head. Normally we'd have 7 games in the opening weekend, some great match-up's and some not so great. This time round, there are two games, one of which is between two teams that will be fighting to see who is the least hopeless!

As for your dig at the Bulls in the hope of getting a reaction from me...better luck next time.

I'm struggling to understand your point, bluebok. Sorry if this is another "whoosh" but based on your earlier reply where you said you knew about the reasons why the Aussie sides were facing off against each other a week early, I can only gather that you're now suggesting they cancel the British Lions tour to Australia?

That is what you appear to be saying now.

Tell you what, to avoid any further misunderstanding, why don't you just tell us what you think the organizers should have done, rather than put you through the ordeal of having to watch the Rebels play the Force this weekend. That will probably clear this all up quite quickly. Thanks in anticipation!

LOL Jala, no need to talk to me like a 3 year old....I am neither Saff nor Moz! :) Simple solution, start the tournament one week earlier...for all the teams. If the Aus teams are ready to kick things off this weekend, then the NZ and RSA teams should also be ready. Is that clear enough for you?

Oh I see, so on those weekends when the Aussies are playing the British Lions we get no Super Rugby at all? Frankly, I prefer the way they've done it.

bluebok, are you quite sure you understand why the Aussie teams are playing each other this week? It doesn't sound like it.
