Is anyone here watching the Super Bowl? The NY Giants are up against my boys, the Pats. Brady is looking for revenge as this is the same opponent that haulted an unbeaten season in 2007/08. No doudt about it, Eli Manning has been in sublime form of late, but don't for a second think Brady should feel intimidated.
Pats have been deemed very poor defensively; ranking 31st overall. However, this does not take into consideration that they now place much higher for total points conceded. Despite conceding much territory they have proven very effective at forcing turnovers. Their turnover differential is +17, ranked 3rd. In the playoffs though they were minus for turnovers, yet still managed to come out on top.
Points of Interest:
Much has been made of the Pats defence over the last couple of seasons. Rightly so emphasis will be on them stopping Eli from running riot. He has many weapons to pick apart the Pats D. Wilfork, the one an wrecking machine, et al need to front up and have the game of their lives.
Can the Pats OL protect Brady? This was key to the Giants success over them earlier in the season. The giants much vaunted pass rush will aim to squeeze Brady out of the game.
Overall
This looks like one of the tastiest SBs for quite some time. A real arm-wrestle. I can't wait to see what Bill Bilichick has up his sleeve. Two very shrewd coachs at work here.
