I’m finding it really difficult getting back into these last few rounds of Super Rugby.

Just two weeks ago we saw the Boks in action against the Poms.

Forward 1 week later, and these same fellas are bashing each other in the 2012 edition of Super Rugby.

I’ve lost the steely spark I had at the beginning of the season…

For two reasons:

  1. The season is too long and is becoming a bit bland. It doesn’t have the same effect as the English Premier League, which takes half a year to complete. The rugby season should be shortened if the pocketeers want to keep their coffers full. This may sound strange! But people are going to stop going to watch games because they are losing interest! Let’s get the SR competition back to its old format, which I think was a lot more dynamic and exciting!
  2.  Watching Willem Alberts and Eben Etsebeth SMASH each other in the SR tournament and then hug when they play for the Boks and then again SMASH each other just doesn’t make sense! Lets get the SR tournament over and then let Willem and Eben be friends for the remainder of the year. It just seems so superficial seeing what is going on.

If it carries on like this, the general public are going to lose interest in rugby!

The season is way too long and the switching back and forth of jerseys doesn’t bode well for the average Joe Soap supporter.

…that’s just my opinion!

Yip Flash we have been saying this since the start of the season. I hope that the powers that the media will listen firstly and not eat up this numbers thing that SANZAR are throwing at us regarding attendance and such. The only way that Sanzar will listen is if there is a big hoohah in the media about it as they won't listen to us the fans directly, never have as muh as they claim to. They will only listen to numbers and a big mess in the media.

VERY WELL WRITTEN FLASH

Points made very well.

Good comparison with Willem and Eben... Its just so strange seeing those players smash, hug and smash again.

Wake up IRB and SANZAR and please start working together!

The guys who may be loosing intewrest are supporters of teams not going to make the playoffs. We Stormers are raring to go. Everything to play for and a chance to top the log.

I do not think anything but money counts for Sanzar - they will do everything to get as much of the stuff from the public and TV rights.   Bugger the players interests - that fact is clear.

At last a smile from Puke.

Well said guys the season is getting to long and the players are taking the hits and the Bosses are filling their coffers.

Here in Canada our rugby circle which gets together for the Tests/S15/Braai has dropped off and the guys are finding/claiming most of the games are getting boring.

Rugby fatigue.........not even the chance of a cold Castle/s is attracting expats.

The almighty Rand/Dollar controls everything.

The Rebels and next year the EP Queens are not going to help........

I agree 100%, it was very difficult to get back into Super Rugby after the internationals. It is such a stupid setup! Although, I am getting back into it now!!!
