Super Rugby - a return to samity in 2018

Although it is not clear yet what will happen in Australia - what is clear is that the conferences will consist of the following teams:-
New Zealand :   Blues, Chiefs, Highlanders, Hurricanes, CrusadersSouth Africa  :   Bulls, Jaguares, Lions, Sharks, StormersAustralia       :   Reds, Sunwolves, Waratahs, 2 of Brumbies/Force/Rebels
Each team will in round robin play 15 games made up as follows:-
8 games within their conference and 8 games against teams of other conferences - in other words the teams will miss out on playing two teams from outside their conferences. Normally the latter would be against one team from each of the other conferences.
To allow for the above there will either be 6 or 7 games each weekend with each team getting 2 bye rounds during the season.   The competition will NOT be interrupted by the incoming tours - which will be moved to July.     
From all perspective the above would be a much better and more competitive series than it was over the last two years.   The worrying factor is the poor standard of rugby played in Australia at present and the Sunwolves is a dismal team at present - something will have to be done to up their standard and  more players from the pacific islands will help them.   Matter of fact a combined team from the Islands would have been better than the Sunwolves,  but the Sunwolves is going to stay because of Japanese money and to enhance the sport in Japan.
I am looking forward to a more rational and interesting season coming up.
