Fact is the loss of the Chiefs had much to do with pressure on McKenzie and the fact is that I think they would not have made the semi-final if McKenzie did not fire on all cylinders and he did not on the day,   That high pass going staight into the hand of Savea set the tone for the rest of the game.   


The Crusaders is a class outfit and I cannot see them being beaten in the finals.   


Looking at the Highlanders performances throughout the series - they could not beat the Waratahs or for that matter any other teams playing in the quarterfinals - fact is they were probably the weakest team in the quarters.  


Marx beat the Jaguares - one can only hope he is not inju red and available for the semi next week.


My projection for the semi's are as follows:=


*   Crusaders to beat the Hurricanes by 18 points

*   Lions to beat the Waratahs by 10 points

Marx beat the Jaguares....hmmmm. So you are saying that Coetzee, Jantjies, Mostert and Schoeman who had a great showing off the bench were bit players. Marx certainly had a tremendous game but your inability to give any credit to players you hate....like Mostert and Janties fools nobody.

Aag Moz, I know that that was what was said, but for me the obvious intention was that Marx was the biggest factor...which he was, Jantjies wasn't too shabby, but Marx is the star of the side. I liked what Mosterdt did too...and Dyanti wasn't half bad either.

No it wasn't Draad if you have read Tokkie's stuff he is totally incapable of giving Jantjies any credit. The absence is intentional.

Schoeman the human pinball, that bounces tackles at will. He just needs to be careful he does not do an Oupa headbutt and take someone out, especially one of his own players.

Schoeman beat 6 defenders in 9 runs...impressive, the most on either side. He gave the Lions a lot of momentum when the Jags had closed the gap. M SchoemanR 0 1 9 35 2 6 0 0

He seems pretty small for a flanker, is he playing openside? Although I did not see much of him in a fetching capacity.

Too small for international duty but he works in the Lions' system. Marx dominated the Lions'fetching today, but Schoeman can be effective.

Mikey if the quarters had been given on points overall instead of the idiotic conference system the tahs would and should have been playing in NZ .Twice ow we see the ridiculous sight of a higher ranked team having to play a lower ranked team away from home .

But thats why we  have this gerrymandered system innit ?

IF it was based on overall. Would of been.

1. Crusaders

2. Hurricanes

3. Chiefs

4. Lions

5. Highlanders

6. Waratahs

7. Jaguares

8. Sharks

So yes the conference system is very flawed. So the QF would of been. 

Hurricanes v Jags

Crusaders v Sharks

Chiefs v Tahs (Hamilton)

Lions v Landers

Could of had different results. 

Canes v Saders would stil be the semi

Chiefs would of been in the semi. And prob faced Lions. 

In any regard. Felt the Canes really beat up the Chiefs upfront. Their line speed and intensity really put them under pressure. As for Canes Saders. I'll admit as a Canes fan might be a bridge too far. But if they come with the right attitude. And get some parity upfront got a chance. In any case my predictions. 

Crusaders v Hurricanes - Canes by 7

Lions v Tahs - Lions by 12

In my opinion, Super rugby would be superior product if each team played each other once. No playoffs. Simple. Alternate home and away each season between teams if possible. It's fairer and more enjoyable. I always hated the playoff system for Super rugby. I've often wondered how a two tier system might work. Relegation and promotion. The expansion of Super rugby doesn't work outside of a second division. Slimming calendar is important, especially considering Super rugby now falls inside of the international calendar.

Whatever they are doing in SuperRugby it's not working at the stadiums. There were more people at Chicago's Soldier Field on Friday in the rain to watch Man City's and Dortmund's second teams....than there were watching the Saders or the Lions in the Super knockouts.
