Luke
It i s for SA and Aussie teams a sad tale of poor performances this year.
Other than the Chiefs in the game against the Stormers all the other teams playing against New Zealand teams was disgracefully poor in losing. The Stormers were disgracefully poor in their games in New Zealand and still have to play the Blues at home.
The only teams from Australia who beats the SA sides have been the Reds (Sharks and Kings) and the Brumbies (Kings). All the other Australian teams lost their games against SA sides with the Rebels who drew their game against the Sharks giving their coach a near heart attack. He said the team should pay the spectators back their gate money!!!
However, the situation is not really good insofar as play-off matches are concerned. In the case of the rankings if the standings remain the same will be in the play-offs:-
NZ Conference : Crusaders, Hurricanes, Chiefs, HighlandersAussie Conference : BrumbiesAfrica Conference : Lions, Stormers, Sharks
Looking at the log at present, the situation will in the play-offs be as follows:-
Crusaders vs SharksBrumbies vs ChiefsLions vs HighlandersStormers vs Hurricanes
I think the Crusaders, Chiefs and Hurricanes will have easy wins, while the Lions game at Ellis Park would be a major hurdle for the Highlanders. If those are the outcomes the semi-finals may well be between -

And I have predicted a Lions Canes Final at Durban. So I agree with your assement. However alot to happen to that point. All depends on the kiwi darby games tbh. Canes Crusaders, and Canes Cheifs look to be crucial games.

Luke that is why I said the above is based on present points and may change when it comes to future games.
