Even with the Hurricanes poor performance againgst the Blues, the BP they received through scoring 4 trys, kept them at 6th place and still in playoff contention. The Super Rugby criteria and format is crucially flawed though, it's been proven beyond doubt that the NZ Conference is the toughest conference, while the Canes have all tough games againgst Cheifs, then Blues, then Saders in three weeks. Brumbies can cruise with with big wins againgst the Rebels, and the SA teams can cruise with big wins againgst the Cheetahs, both teams who leak the most points. In three weeks all SA teams have a bye, so a chance for the wild card teams to improve their position.
