– boast a combined 161 log points, for an average per team of 32.2.

SA Teams

South Africa comes in a distant second, with its present six franchises (130 points total) sporting an average of 21.66 table points each.

But that is still a conspicuously superior tally to the bottom-sawyer Aussies (58 points), who have a flimsy average of 11.6 per team among their five.

This is pathetic that 2 teams from Australia were also not cut. They do not have the depth for 4 teams.
SA lose 33% of their players, while Australia only lose 20%. 

 the 5 kiwi teams got 21 try bonus points,.... SA 6 teams got 8 and the 5 aussies just 1

the sum of the 5 NZ teams' point difference is +595 points,.... the aussies' is -494,.... this is embarrassing for the aussies and is hurting the SR competition

 3 is the best number for the Aussies ,they could have a quota of say Western Australian players and play games in Perth to maintain a viable rugby culture there same for Melbourne.
