Best weekend in ages for the SA teams.
Sharks beating the Crusaders, the Brumbies getting beat by the Cheetas, the Force getting beat by the Stormers, and the Hurricanes challenge falling apart has put the Sharks in a good position to still top the log.
Just need to retain the current form and if the Blues can be beat in Auckland it is looking great for the Sharks.
Bulls are in with a good chance of also making the playoffs, as they traditionally get stronger after their tours and the season gets to the business end.
The Australian teams are now slipping down the rankings as many of them have had their tours later in the season. -The likes of the Force are sure to get beat next in Christchurch.- The Brumbies are going to have another hard game next week against the Bulls.

All the SA teams have a bye in round 17 to recharge the batteries.

This was the weekend of upsets and major upsets.   If anybody predicted the outcome of all 5 games correctly and bet on it, he would make millions.  Its like the biggest outrsiders winning the Durban July Handicap and the Metropolitan and a guy took a double on it for R500.
Now lets hope there is another one tomorrow morning.

Yep lets hope Bulls make playoffs.
I hope we get our front row back and that Etzebeth and Burger will be fit.  C ould it be the Mighty Stormers who dash the playoff and title hopes of the bulle and sharks. They each have to play at Newlands and if we get enough players back we could trip them up.

...Not a bad weekend for the Mighty Chiefs....could've been sitting 6th spot but still in the top three despite the bye ... pretty damn good with Cruden, Ngatai , Fruean and Tiks returning the Chiefs are ready for the business end...credit also to Rennies rotation policy which has kept their players fresh and ready for action...

Glad you SA  posters have something to celebrate, it was probably the best weekend for SA teams this year. Maybe the bleak & negative posting will be reduced... nah, lol
Clevermike, how did steyn & alberts do this weekend. Beeno, a good weekend for refs... & matfield (the seagull) will be well rested for next weekend; moz: in experience we trust.... Boklogic: so it wasn't tongue in cheek humor when you said the sharks would win (Wardad read you like a book).

 Just-Win
Steyn was excellent in the first five minutes of the game with the Sithole try.  I wish he sustained that level of performance and he got progressively worse after that.   The decllne started off with the missed tackle on Slade and ended up with a penalty kick that missed to find touch.   I would give him 6,5/10 for that effort.
Did Alberts actually play???????

Clevermike: congrats on giving steyn 6,5 I know he is not your favorite player.
I believe alberts spent his time counting yellow cards.
Sharks are top of the table & given the team spirit & guts they showed today they will be hard to beat. Blues will give them a good run for their money next weekend though.

It is good to see the Australian Conference being brought down to earth. Their positions were artificially inflated by many of their teams only touring later in the year.
The Force got their arses handed to them today, and next week they play the Crusaders who will be dying to get back their form after today's loss.
The Brumbies play the Bulls in Pretoria and I would expect they will lose again.
The Waratahs could leap frog them both, but traditionally the Waratahs performance gets worse in the business end of the tournament .

Warratahs looking good after the updated table from todays win. With the Bunnies having to play the Bulls next week, the Waratahs should take top position on the Australian log. The Western Farce should continue to slide down the rankings as they play Crusaders next week in Christchurch
