This is not absolute, nor can it be. No amount of 'science' can make it absolutely true. We present this in all humility because it always adds so much to interest in schools rugby, partly by way of debate.
Of course, the ranking will change from week to week as more matches are played.
The time seems right to make a start as schools have already played up to eight matches.
Not for the first time Grey College do not start top but then they lost - just 22-20) to the strong Outeniqua side with its electric backs.
Of the teams in this week's Top 20, Affies, Die Brandwag, Dr EG Jansen, Monument, Outeniqua, Paarl Gim and St Andrew's have been unbeaten. It was then up to the four assessors to work out the level of achievement relative to the opposition. They started with all schools, then got to 50 and finally to 20.
