outmuscled, outthought and outplayed this scrap metal outfit never stopped trying, as a matter of fact the game stopped soon after they were denied scoring a try, just one of many brave efforts. One has to feel for the brave underdogs, the score belies their effort and like everyone else I felt they deserved a try. Unfortunately they also suffered a disallowed try....dang these Refs, couldn't he just let it go?...what's happened to the sympathy try hey? 

Anyway, the game was highly enjoyable and hats off to Tony Brown who's taken ordinary players and turned them into a competitive outfit.

Agreed the Sun Wolves play some very nice rughy and have scored very good tries. 

I'm not convinced whether they did, looking back I thought the 'Canes seemed more fractured whereas the 'Landers were more constructive and tight in all departments. But yes there were some who thought the 'Canes were lucky to beat them.

Denny, I agree with you...The Sunwolves play the real rugby game...underdogs that beat the Tahs, who incidentally beat the Saders. Good rugby and a heart...unfortunatley without reserves. Their flyhalf, Hayden Parker is the best in the competition, ok he's a NZ'er but so what.

Another chance at the Supers next year was taken away from them...we read about the so-called reasons why but perhaps there are deeper reasons to this. In all their games it has just been a handful of points. I think they just let it go in the end because they did not have any incentive to prove a point.

Caution: watch Japan in the RWC...there'll be another upset.

There is more intent, guts, attack and style of play in the scrap metal Sunwolves than in any of our SAFFA teams.......it's a  disgrace when making the comparison. Truth be told we simply don't know how to play rugby.

Our rugby players are good gym people. They can lift heavy weights, but most lack basic skills.

Tony Brown is the epitome of a good coach......don't knock the players they are just products of the coach. The style of play or lack thereof, the strategy or lack thereof etc comes down to one man and one man alone, the coach. How I wish they lure him to coach one of our franchises, I've had a gutful of the Pretenders.

What kind of an example is a sniveling coward that tucks tail and runs away to mommy when the going gets a little tough.

He loses all credibility ... all respect ... and trust. He's not a man you want to go to war with and should not be allowed anywhere near a rugby team.

Brown knew he had his back to the wall and still gave it his best shot. He's upset a few apple carts this season. Yesterday was just a freakishly bad day at the office. We all now the Highlanders aren't a quality side and that kind of score line was never on the cards.
