Seta Tamanivalu turns down return to Chiefs to re-sign with Crusaders

Seta Tamanivalu doesn't hold grudges when it comes to the Christchurch weather.

Despite interest from the Chiefs, and several undisclosed offshore clubs, the three-test All Black declared on the eve of the Super Rugby semifinal against the Chiefs that he will stay with the Crusaders for another year.

His reasons for staying were sound. He enjoys what he does, likes his team-mates and is having fun under coach Scott Robertson.

Signing the centre/wing for next season ensures the Crusaders have netted most of their key players for next year and beyond, including All Blacks midfielder Ryan Crotty who shunned massive offers from overseas clubs to commit for another year.

 best possible news for saders before the semis,.... Tamanivlu has fulfill perfectly the role of the powerful wing,... always hitting hard the defense, gaining meters and putting the defense in the back foot,... very strong carrying the ball, beating defenders and good finisher,... IMO he's in far better form tham Savea and should be called to the AB alongside Naholo as powerful wings

with this signing the whole saders team is going to continue next season,... last seasons saders los t 4-5 important players at the end of each one,... for the first time in some years the coach will work with a team already built (being that team the one that have lost just one game during the regular season and is in the semis)

bad news however for the chiefs,... no Naholo, no Tamanivalu to compensate the losses of James Lowe, Cruden, TKB, Michael Leicht,....

 Yes, bad news for the Chiefs but they will find a way to get good players.
Very good news for the Saders and another illustration of the quality of their coaching. It's not only that they are getting the most out of their players but they are also ensuring the team is set for next year. What a difference Robertson has made.
