Tattoo of McCaw for Beeno & Cloudy; NZ Herald

Before you ask, yes it's real.

This painstakingly detailed tattoo of former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw could easily be mistaken for a photograph.

It took Auckland tattoo artist Steve Butcher nine hours to hand ink every strand of hair and wrinkle on McCaw's bloodied face, on a die-hard fan's lower leg.

The incredible inking sent social media into a flurry when NewstalkZB and NZME broadcaster Tony Veitch shared it on Facebook saying he had to look at it multiple times before asking the public if this is "the greatest sports tattoo".

Butcher has been in the business for seven years, in which time he has won several international awards including best in show in London last year and again in Paris this year, against about 300 other tattoo artists - a particularly big deal for a self-taught tattooist.

@This is very sad! How could anyone get a tattoo like this.done? When do you plan to have the operation? 

Beeno hasn't replied Cloudy so no doubt he's rustling up funds to pay for the t attoo

Time for Beeno to educate poor JW who as usual is stumbling in the dark. I fear Cloudy also has no idea as to why having a tattoo is wrong.First just to sat having a tattoo of McCheat on ones body would obviously be a  severe defilement.However its more serious than that. Having tattoos is forbidden in the bible and of course Satan loves to get people going the wrong way.Bible - Leviticus 19:28, which says: “You must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves.”.

 You forgot the most inportant part of that quote, you forgot to start with "Once upon a time in a land far far away".... just like every other fairy tale starts with.

Richie Mccaw is also launching his own brand of toilet paper. It is expected to be a major success outside of New Zealand....

 Seeing that the artist is such a brilliant technician I reckon the uber fan should've had  McCaw's face tattooed onto his own mug, not his leg.
