Taute has proved to be a great prospect at centre. He has played in the midfield five times this season, and the stats look promising. The 21-year-old has only missed three tackles, he’s gained 249m with ball in hand (which is an average of 49.8m per match), has forced seven turnovers and provides extra help at the tackle points when support is needed.

Great try he scored 2 weeks ago and these stats in a side that keeps getting its arse kicked, with the likes of Taute having to live off scraps - and some say he is an average player who just runs straight, yeah right

What Mitchell says of him' Jaco has been a revelation for us all year. He’s a good fullback, and I believe he can be a great centre. He’s impressed when picked at 13, and he’ll give [flyhalf] Elton Jantjies great support at 12. He will run strongly off Elton, will offer some good direction on attack, he’s solid on defence and offers a big boot when needed.'

SAFFEX - Taute is a great 13 in the making - something Pietersen cvan never be.

I think the competition for Springbok selection at center is not as strong as in the case of full backs.   He is 20 and can adjust easily.   Has strength and pace - great qualities for a center.

On the other hand where would the Lions be if they had kept Jaque Fourie, Bryan Habana, Ludik, Vermaak, Alberts, Deysel, Mostert etc.

In the end it came down to poor managment. Union went on a downward spiral when Luyt left.

In the first half against the Blues, containing Nonu at centre, Taute has made two great breaks, using power, pace and swerve. Taute for Bok 13, easy choice

SAFFEX great advance from Pietersen at 13 to Taute at 13.   I think Taute is the real thing - much like Etzebeth and Goosen.

Mike I'd be more than happy with JP at 13 - but Taute is my choice for Bok 13

Taute is looking very good and should be eased into test rugby off the bench.

Its looking increasingly like Frans and Taute at center.

It seems that Hougaard, Goosen, Frans, Taute, JP/, JJ? and Lambie are the young Bok backline.

Beeno, nice to see that you have woken up and seen the light and moved on the conservative, going nowhere selection of Morne at 10 and Jean 13........the back line you have selected is the backline of choice, its the best backline we can choose, young or not.........but some fools will push the exprience button and say the Boks need a ponderous plodder at 10 and an old man at 13.

I like your backline Beeno, except I'd have 2 try scoring Mvovo on the other wing. I'd have du Preez/Pienaar, JJ Engelbrecht and Whitehead on the bench

SAFFEX

I also took a good hard look at Jordaan at 13 - another star in the making - delighted that we have Taute as well as Jordaan as young guns.    By the way your ponderous slow player talk is "funny ha-ha" - ot is not clever enough to be "funny peculiar".
