The expected three changes were made - Aplon at 15, Olivier at 12 and Potgieter at 7   I thought Habana may not play - but he is  playing

The bench is changed - but unfortuantely not improved upon    Kruger remnaibs at 17 - bad choice that one,   Daniel was dropped and replaced by Kankowski,  Basson remains as a backline bench player,   I must say i have no confidence in some selections in this case.

I am worried about the impact  a combination of Steyn and Olivier would hqave on backline play.   Jantjies is on the bench as well.  I especilally believe the bench is poor - other than Pienaar.

De Villiers has been appointed at captain until the end of 2012

Can't wait to see how Aplon does for a full game. Classy player who has gotten a lot better in the last couple years boxing above his weight class. At the very least he should be on the Bok bench every game just because he matches Meyer's philosophy of an impact player. Put him in the fray at the 60th minute whenever the legs are tired and the game is a little more open and watch him run circles.

We shall see

Still time to change your mind Mike!

While Olivier is no Frans for sure dont forget Morne has played next to Olivier successfully for the bulle many times. Wynand must be very highly motvated as this is his last chance,

Still pick Boks to win dispite us missing several top notch players.

Sometimes proganda takes over from reality - players are trashed when they are not too bad at all. Jantjes and Oliver fall into that department. Olivier will have a huge challege in marking moster manu. I trust if he manages to hold the guy he will earn some credit from the one eyed observers. Heaven help him if he misses one tackle - of that be assured. Fact is Olivier is a good defensive center. I suspect however we might well see JP and Jean at center at some point later in the game.

I just hope Potgieter is fit enough as he hasnt had a game in months. He is a really good player this. Pity Malherbe didnt get a shot. However  will not to be too surprised if Pieter De Villers hasnt sorted out some scrum issues. We needed Guthro here.

@ oimatey

You have hit the nail on the head there. Aplon would be my bench player as well. Just the impact he can have off the bench with tired legs on the field. I don't think he has the same impact on the game if he plays as a starter.

carpet muncher please lets not get too melodramatic. Next we will have fainting fits here and Mike predicting a fifty points loss and snapster the end of Bok rugby etc etc.

The situation is not ideal but we can hope for te best. These players are not as bad as some imagine.
