Our usual TOW expert is sadly dodging this one.....picking Esterhosen over Duh Allende is clearly too much for him. So here goes:
Willemse.
Peterson.
Am.
Esterhosen.
Lleyds.
Pollard.
Papier.
Beast.
Bongi.
Malherbe.
Etzebeth.
Snyman.
Steenkamp.
Liebenburg.
Dan Deysel Twin.
Some pretty horrible choices there. We had no flyhalf that was decent, Pollard gets it for his kicking. Likewise at scrummie Papier was the best of a mediocre lot.
In the pack no number 5 lock was worth mentioning....Snyman is a default choice. And among the loosies the Stormers flankers were big contributors to the loss, while the others were invisible......the Bools pair get it on hard graft.
Number 8 was a bright spot with all of Coetzee, Vermeulen and Dan Deysel putting up their hands. The latter gets it with the most influential display on attack, although Coetzee had some good moments as well.

Dominated his side of the scrum.....carried for 35 metres with a clean break, defender beaten and an offload.

Beast was involved, certainly one of the better Sharks forwards.

The only real competitor for the Beast was Kitshoff, who was less effective in both attacking and defence.
Look Mike this is an honest attempt at a team of the week.....no favouritism, no players selected out of position. Just an objective attempt to pick the best performer at each position on the day.
You should adopt the same approach, that way your TOWs might have some credibility.

I'm pretty gatvol of both Robert du Preezs . . . the coach and the flyhalf. The Sharks were nothing short of pathetic against the Bulls and most of the blame goes to these two. The Bulls were poor on the day but as crap as they were, they were still miles better than the Sharks.
Robert the flyhalf wasn't just weak on defence, his cross kicks really piss me off. I know it's a problem for all flyhalves that they have to try be the glory boy all the time but at least some of the other glory boys can actually execute once in a while. Robert's decision-making is amateurish.
As for Robert the coach, when you see a side with as many talented players as the Sharks have who can't even do the basics of catching and passing then you have to look at the coach. The players are all running laterally and no-one seems to have the first clue what to do when they get the ball. On the rare occasion they actually catch it they throw it to someone who is not expecting it. It's a complete mess.
Also, Klown, that was Damian Willemse's first really good game in the #15 jersey and he's had several good games at flyhalf. I think the jury is still out on whether he's a better flyhalf or fullback but there's no doubting his natural talent. Plus he's got a bit of guts which is always good.

Willemse should be playing at 12 as I suggested a while ago....his defence is up to it and he is not afraid of contact. His decision making is not yet evolved enough to play10 at top level. In that regard he lags behind young Ntamack.
