From a fantasy perspective a difficult round.   The Hurricanes should beat the Chiefs  - unlike the game against the Sharks they even may not need referee assistance.

The Blues should beat the Sunwolves and a fair number of Blues players may b needed - if team selection is favourable - I may get rid of McKenzie as he is unlikely to play as a result of his injury yesterday and replace him with a Blues player.

The4 Rebels should beat the Rebels - but will they?

The Sharks - Bulls game will be interesting - but I back the Sharks in this case.

...not so clevermike "the Rebels should beat the Rebels - but will they ?"...funny you should say that as they can be their own worst enemy at times...

...but you maybe right re McKenzie...and Perenara also in doubt ahead of this weekend's NZ conference blockbuster...with medial ligament problems for Perenara...DMac is probably 50/50

i would have to make the Canes at home the favourites ahead of this one but the Chiefs have been a bogey team for the Canes in the past..losing twice to the Chiefs last year they will be after revenge this week ..

Brycy

I frankly was not impressed by the Cane performance against the Sharks if they do not up their performance a lot there is a chance that they may lose against the Chiefs.   I am going to phase out McKenzie from my fantasy squad so as to free money for purchase of other pricey players.   McKenzie is not much better than any of the other OB's I have got in the squad 0 so it would b advantageous to replace him sooner rather than later.

Canes performance was uncharacteristically average. But I Think alot of the credit has to go to th Sharks. They put alot of pressure on the Canes for periord of time. But they should b happy how composed they were, and to win at the end without Barrett or TJ. I expect them to b vastly improoved againgst th Chiefs. Smashed the Saders and Landers in Welly. Different beast their. Canes by about 12-15.

As for fantasy this we. I am thinking of taking out Marx. I don't hav enough cash. Looking at Coltman, Mafi, and De Jager.

There is no sign yet of the results of round 8 - so I cannot start experimenting  yet to find out  where to go.   Will have to let go of McKenzie top start with - I need the money.   The rest depends on the team selection.

I don't think it is wise to get rid of Marx - he is probably the top point scorer amongst the forwards.

I have three players in the Blues - Sunwolves game and made Akira Ioane my captain.

Yeah got 135 pts first game. Lam 78, Luamape 49. Ova then that eves got -4 as prop. And Lousi pulled out before kick off. My only lock playing this we. So could of done better. However making Akira captain. And banking on some big points from that game. After that game got Mafi. So pushing 300 at least. Good win for the Canes too. Clinical.

Just finished watching the canes vs Chiefs, what a game. So much talent in NZ players keep emerging and the depth is incredible. McKenzie continues to settle into the 10 jersey and seeing Barrett and McKenzie on the same field reassures me we are fine at 10 even though McKenzie still needs more time in the jersey to be at his best.

I only have 14 actual players in my tem this week and one of those were in fact on the bench - so I started  off with a handicap in this weeks round.

With 6 more players still to play I already have 447 points.   Among those players are potentially good point scorers like –

*   Coltman  (hooker)

*    De Jager  (lock)

*    Du Preez (flank)

*   Du Preez  (flyhalf)

*   Ben Smith (full back)

The 6th player is Pierre Schoeman (prop) of the Bulls,

on 521 atm. Should b alot mor. Left Barrett on the bench. Who got 49. Du Preez ended up getting 4. And Tendai DNP. So yeah bit of a blunder their. Also Alimolo got 66. Jordie 21. So down to 17 in our league now. But still a solid score. Akira good choice as captain.

I only got 57 points  from my last 4 selections.   I think the fional tally for those four will be boosted by De Jager - who made 19 tackles - missing one according to ESPN stats and ythat is closely tied to the outcomes of Foxsport results.  Robert du Preez did well in NZ -tesyerday he was a dead loss,
In any event I was also in trouble selecting Tuipolotu as lock - should rather have gone for one of the Highlanders locks.
In round ten I should be fine.   the following bench players will be back - Kitshoff, Marx, Du Toit, Willemse.    I have George Bridge to replace Lam as OB and am considering keeping Havili at center - the Crusaders are playing the Sunwolves in that round.  May even consider Sam Whitelock as a lock in that game even though he is normally a poor investmment.  .

I have alot of Canes but I Should b fine. Looks lik I Cannot bring Marx back in. But looking at Codie Taylor who is slightly cheaper playing the Sunwolves. And Matale. Backrow performed well. Prob going to b 1 prop short again. But well see

Prop: T Tupou

Hooker: C Taylor

Locks: S Whitelock, F Mostert

Backrow: Timu, A Ioane, A Mafi

SH:

A Smith

FH:

R Du Preez

IB:

R Van Janse Rensberg, R Ioane

OB:

M Matale, S Alimolo, B Smith

Well see. Not sure if Rensberg well start againgst the Tahs in Sydney.

The situation is in fact problematic this coming week and we will have to wait and see the team selections before deciding on anything.   However, I believe the Lions is in a bind - they cannot  afford another loss and Marx will be a must in the game.  I like Taylor - but had to do some team rebuilding.

Have at present three Hurricanes players in the team and will have to get rid of one of them Perenara),    He was a bad choice anyway - so I will have to start weeding him out.

Y team in Round 10 may look like the following:-

PR               -     Kitshoff, Schoeman

HO              -      Marx

LO               -      Du Tout, De Jager

OB               =   Ioane, Mafi, Du Preez

SH               -      ???????????

FH               -      Willemse

CE               -      Ioane, Havili

OB              -      Bridge, Smth, Alailamo

If the above are all elected I will start weeding out some players in the bench and lo ok at other scrummie options.
