Technical question

It's been ages since I posted a picture on this site....my cut and paste approach doesn't seem to work. In the old days we used one of the picture upload sites....is that still needed?

Moz - the typical mouse right-click copy and then paste works for me. Maybe try a different browser if you're using Internet Explorer? Chrome or Firefox - both are downloadable, just google the names. Chrome works the best for me - much quicker than the other two.

 

If you're on a Mac computer, I can't help you :)

 

Right click on any of these images on this page.

Select- Copy Image (with left click)

Right click where you want to place the image.

Select- Paste (with left click)

Thanks Matey/SB but it wont reproduce the picture....just the address.

Moffie, it's not so easy to copy and paste the html code you should use to post pictures because the message board software interprets it as html and doesn't display it. The best I can do is the following . . . and I'm not 100% sure it'll work . . .

Right, I see it worked . . . now copy the line of text above and paste it where you want your picture to appear, remove the four "*" characters (which I had to include to prevent it from interpreting it as html), then replace the word "URL" with the web address of the picture you want to put up. Note there is a space between "img" and "src" but there should be no other spaces in the command. Note also that the web adress should be between quotes, don't remove those.

 

When I post an image using that method it doesn't always appear first time so I have to post it and then click on the edit button. You don't have to actually edit anything, just click on the "Update comment" button if your pic doesn't appear first time.

 

Hope you understand all that (I know you're not the shiniest coin in the fountain) but that basic html syntax does work on almost any kind of platform.

No Blikkies, but I do know that if you post pictures (or articles) that are too wide, this forum doesn't cope too well with them and the ads on the right hand side encroach on the text of the posts.

 

I'm no expert on these matters but I suspect Moffie is using an outdated browser. If he can't copy and paste the pic or post a pic using html code that I put up then I reckon he should try upgrading his browser.

 

I don't know if you guys have the same issue I have but when I first reply to a post I get a much more basic text box and only after a few seconds do I get the text box that allows me to use things like bold and italics and proper paragraph spacing. I'm guessing Moffie's problem with his paragraphs that he mentioned some weeks ago is also because he never gets to the "second" text box.
