Moz, as far as predictions go most here agreed that the Lions, Bulls and Sharks would play well this year. 

Nobody really gave the Stormers much of a punt.

Rightly so. They just have too many no hopers and back line players who do one thing very well but suck at everything else.

Indeed, Kitshoff is a major concern. He was hands down my pick to start for the Boks. 

The only real surprise has been the Sharks. The constantly look like they're about to improve. They're still a young bunch though so maybe their breakout season is just around the corner. Despite that, their skipper, the Dups and EasterHouse :) and Am still stand out.

I do not come up with distortions when it comes to player performances - that I leave entirely to you.

Lets go back and start with the real problems in the Stormers team and leave out those players you are prejudiced against amd constantly try to belittle - irrespective of how they perform.

The problem they have start off with their loosies     Thy have two good loosies - Wiese and Augustus - but both are injured,   They consequently have to do with Kolisi and Carr.  to start off with and they then moved Du Toit to play at 7.   That has two consequences, namely -

*   Kolisi and Carr is clueless about ball protection and recovery  ad in Houwsings terms boh go AWOL during games - so they are faced with serious problems in that Department;

*   The only loosie who does add value is Du Toit - but n his own he cannot carry the load for all loosies on his own; and

*    Fact is Du Toit's absence effectively weakens the Lock situation - since Etzeeth is still injured and unlikely to return to play rugby before the June tests, while the other Lock Schickerling is also injured leaving the team in the absence of Du Toit as well with two very weak locks.

In the backline they have messed up with their contracting of scrummies and ended up with two of the worst scrummies in Super Rugby.   That has a serious negative impact on backline play.

Despite your moaning De Allende is bringing his part.  I have a problem though with Viljoen - but despite that he is 10 times the center De Jongh ever was,   Not much the Stormers can do about him.  Maybe a returned Daniel du Plessis will result in a better center combination - while their flyhalf resources will be strengthened by the return of jean-Luc du Plessis.

The Stormers wings are seriously defective.  Rhule cannot tackle and is part of a Stormers problem of the past - namely to play midgets on the wing.   The fact is that contracting a Western Force reject (Lleyds) and Rhule was stupid beyond believe.   They also went with Senatla - a sevens specialist who are also constantly injured,  

However, the main problem is that the Stormers coach is probably the worst Super 15 coach in SA and even though you reduce the role of the coach in your numerous idiotic posts - that is one of the major reasons for the poor team performance.   They could have had Mitchell as coach and many of the problems the Stormers have at present would have ben avoided/, but the idiot Wakefield sabotage that appointment.

So the above are the real problems of he Stormers - not the BS dreamt up by you.

Well, the Dup cousins are back from injury.  Jean Luc played for WP over the weekend...and he impressed the "drsperate for good news" Cape reporters. Eben will hopefully be back soon. Way too late for the campaign, but maybe we can salvage some pride. We need an actual coach for a head coach...Maaik, Thelo vetoed Small's choice of Mitchell...on the string recommendation of Kevin de Klerk and Oregan Hoskins...what a fool for listening to them...????? AAAANNNNDDDD he bancrupted WP with a poor advertising deal. You can't make up this SH!TTTTT!!!!

It may help if you start thinking about issues before the prejudice shows up,

Mtchell coacjed the Lions when they were in serious trouble - bottom of the log.   He took Ackerman and taught him the art of coaching.  He took a groupof cirtualunkwns and slowly turn the fortune of the Lions around.

Before he could achieve the level where the Lions would be a force in Super Rugby - he had a fall-out with Strauss and Jantjies - who did not playin accordance with his plans of objective achievement.  The concocted a letter and had if signed by most of the team members,  However, when the matter went to Labour Court all but Strauss and Jantjies withdrew their support for the letter.  

As  a result the contract between the Lions and Mitchell was terminated and his trainee Ackerman succeeded him    So where is the Lions now?

And that is why the Stormers will end up  the bottom of the log this year - the Bulls have a top class coach - the Stormers does not have one.   

Mitchell was one of your pet hates for years since he was a coach from New Zealand - another one being Plumtree.   The fatxc is those tow coaches were supporting a playing stuyle different from the 10-man game you are addicted to.  However, it could also be associated with Mitchell's comment on the crazy selection practices of Meyer -which left the Springbok team in tatters by 2015,

You went ballistic when some members welcomed Michell's appointment as Bulls coach and came up with doomsday forecast insofar as the Bulls are concerned     Your comments continued  despite the success of the Bulls thus far this year compared to the failures then were since 2014.   They did not get any new players - but those selfsame players have had some remarkable victories this  year and beat teams like the Hurricanes and won all their home games this year,   The players are all making remarkable progress and that include Pollard - whose  career was nearly destroyed by Meyer,  Ludeke and Marais.

Stats is suddenly everything - but there are things that you missed out on - even Bluebok mentioned it.   It lies with execution,   The story about kicking also popped up and nobody ever had problems with kicking - but that is part of the problem.   There is a difference - it has to do  with effectiveness of and objectives with kicking.

However, the story of traditional Bulls rugby is as much BS as is traditional Springbok rugby,  The Bulls virtually never used their backline in the past - they do so now,   The Bulls forwards never became part of ball handling in conjunction with their backline - they do so now.   Elsewhere mention is made of Strauss - he is doing just what he did playing for the Cheetahs years ago and is effective again as a hooker.   Why did that happen?

I do not think that stats win matches - effective coaching does.  That is where the difference lies - the contribution of a coach must be evaluated based on the inputs he made insofar as reading of situations and taking of options by key players, coupled to effective execution,   You only have to look at Pollard now compared to what Pollard became  under Ludeke, Meyer ad Marais to realize the difference.  

Pollard became a duplicate of two of the worst flyhalfs I have ever seen playing   - Morne and Fat Fransie,   Like them he became a donkey kicker in 2015 - at present he is anything but.

Anyway - fact is that Mitchell is instilling values in the Bulls players which Ludeke and Marais never did.    And neither did Meyer and Coetzee iro Springbok rugby.   The Lions have it - the Bulls are getting there -  the Sharks are progressing slowly and the Stormers are going nowhere but down .   If Mitchell was their coach they would have been years ahead of where they are now.  That is the difference which you do not accept.

I am not sure about silverware either - I am only happy with the improvement I saw thus far iro the Bulls in 2018 compared to what they were since 2014.

By the way I had a meeting with Fleck and Elana Meyer years ago on the issue of sport development and Fleck was a bit late for the meeting,   I then said to her the one thing I remember about his playing in games was when he went through the Sharks defense to score a try.  He never dotted down the ball and was showboating around and was tackled from the back and he never scored since he lost possession.  

Elana burst out laughing and said it was remembered by others as well.
