Test Rugby Fantasy team - Test on Saturday

My selections are as follows:- FR Stephen Moore AUS FR Tom Youngs BLI LK Jed Holloway WAR LK Will Skelton WAR LF Jamie Heaslip BLI LF Micheal Hooper AUS HV Jonathan Sexton BLI HV Will Genia AUS CT Brian O'Driscoll BLI CT Adam Ashley-Cooper AUS OB George North BLI OB Leigh Halfpenny BLI I realise that with rare exceptions locks in general do not score high points and that hookers do. Props are generally also not real top point scorers insofar as the Test Rugby system is concerned. - so I went for potential high point scorers. However - deficient funding forced me to pick Genia - where I did in fact would have preferred Barnes, So I have ten players only that will be taking the field in the test and not twelve. My theory may not yield positive results and I would really like to see what comes up. Have de facto 6 Lions and 4 Wallaby playing players. However I an see the Wallabies actually winning the game. I would pick both Aussie locks if I had the money available. I would be very interesting to see how others made their selections - bearing in mind the restricted budget.

Both very solid teams - nice work Rooi and Mike. I plan on sitting down and figuring it out later tonight when I have some time.

 

Challenging, to say the least

 

Rooinek I must admit I was doing the hesitation waltz in respect of some of my own selections. At OB I thought Halfpenny was a banker and then had to choose 1 player from O'Connor, Folau and North. After tossing the coin between those three I decided on North. Close call - I must admit. The rest was also difficult to decide - for instance I wanted Barnes badly at HB - but ended up with being $35 000 short and then went for Genia who was about $40 000 cheaper. Then as to the loosies for me Hooper was a banker and I like Heaslip - which explains my decision in those two cases. Lets hope things work out for the selection of all participants.

Wow -  wasn't able to get to the lineup until late tonight and the prices were going up as I was putting the roster together so you guys that got it in early should have some nice value accrual. Had to make some changes as a result of the values going up, but got it all to fit. Even Skelton's value went up $2500 from when I looked at it earlier this morning :)

Really wanted Ioane as I think he has a good matchup against Cuthbert, but ran out of moola :)

 

oi-matey Between the time I posted my team and now the prices of players increased by $120 000. That is really a significant increase and it could go up even further by the closing time. Best advice the moment the team is locked transfer the whole lot - since selling would bring down the prices again. Then look at which strategy did work and try and get in early for the transfers for the second test - that is asap after team announcement. This would not affect the Tuesday game since I do not think any of the test players will in fact play on Tuesday.
