This guy is really good and very pacy.   He was the highest try scorer in the recent Under 20WC.

He is only 18 years of age.   Last year in the Under 17 World athletics competition he won the 400 meters hurdles in a new World Under 17 record time.    He won the race by circa 40 meters.   I watched that and thought he would go places in athletics as he matures - but it now seems he is equally good as a SA Under 20 center/wing.

Interesting - definitely someone we should keep an eye on in future in both the athletics and rugby codes of sport.

Mike, he caught my eye playing 13 and scoring a hat trick in one of the earlier matches. He had fast feet and wasn't too bad on defence. Lot's of potential and a long way to go still. I hope his home province phase him in gradually.

I just saw some of the highlights, but his speed over the first 20 metres looked awesome....reminded me a bit of the young Habana.

He is barely 18 years of age.   Has another 2 Under 20 WC to go I believe.   So let have fn and watch this one in future.

Quick off the mark...….shades of Timmy Horan right there.

Persisting. Another tale.

This quota player is so awesome that his coach felt obliged to move him from center to wing. Means quite a lot once the brand of rugby that SA team played is factored in.

This guy compares extremelly poorly to the french center (elected WC best player, only 17 years old, black belt in JJ) or the english wing(who contended for the WC best player title)

As shown again, over the past 20 years, SA has not groomed any non white talent. They wont. It is against SA rugby DNA.

Better sorry for the poor white SA player this quota player took the position of. That is any SA white player young enough to qualify for the team.

That is how bad that guy is.

Trad

If you have nothing to say - don't pollute the Board by talking BS.

Sure, pointing out that this fabulous player was started as a center to be moved to the wing in the super restrictive SA playstyle is BS.

Sure, pointing out that this fabulous player compared poorly to the center elected best player or the english wing who contended for the title is BS.

Sure, pointing out that this fabulous player has taken the position of a deserving white SA player is BS .

Sure, pointing out that SA has not trained one single decent quota player over the past 20 year is BS.

More BS on this board, please, the quality will go up.

Listen there were strings of very good players that was never quota players - so your BS is amazing.  Whatever happened does not fit in with your BS campaign against Rugby in SA.   What are you doing on this site with that kind of thinking.

Normally I totally ignore what you write on site and made a mistake in commenting on your latest loony ramblings.

I watched that game against Ireland where he scored the hatrick, and I was very impressed with his rugby instincts. But here is where I differ with the rest of you. I don't think he is fast enough. He may be good over 400 meters, but he certainly does not have express pace anywhere near that of people like Habana. Nevermind wing, I am not even sure he is quick enough to play at 13.
I have just watched his highlights package from the U20 world cup again, and an argument can be made for outside center, but if you think he has enough pace to play wing...you're wrong.

He has a running style like JP Pieterson. He does not appear to be running quickly, even when he is. Actually, his running style is worse than JP. He looks very clumsy in his running style.

Clumsy when winning the Under 17 World championship winning the 400 meter hurdles in record time by circa 40 meters.   Are you kidding??????

If that's clumsy then I'll have 15 of them in my team.
