That Delande Moment....

Damian is too weak in the upper body to play in any forward position. He is strong in the legs though. Overall? Not tests quality. No matter how many close up shots the camera gives, he is not good enough. He is a wing-outside centre hybrid, lacking the attributes to really thrive anywhere. He is better in space. Not entirely constructive though. Too passive, uncompetitive and not a great reader of the game. He will in all likelihood receive another 40 caps. He has that kind of media backing. It makes all the difference. 

That's a good point. His body position and footwork is terrible. Against England, in June, he attempted to stop a crashball by leaning his left shoulder in, on his left foot, with his right leg up. Left leg bent. He was knocked backwards. Another tackle, a crashball again, he grabs the carriers waist, let's the momentum of the tackle pull him off his feet and swings round. Very bizarre. Another failed tackle. He has so many technical flaws in his game, he requires a lot of work. He doesn't seem hungry enough to want to improve. We can talk about coaching, but why can't the player be proactive? Why can't he clearly see his weak points? You can't meander through life expecting someone else to hold you hand and show you the way, especially in such a competitive environment. 

He lacks voltage.

If he was at least smart, then many of his flaws could and would be sorted out by now.

Unfortunately it's taking him years to learn aspects of his position that he shouldn't really even be playing SR if he doesn't understand and execute already.

It's time to cut our losses and move on.

Let's also remember that Kriel has been playing outside this guy for years now.

Hopefully axing Lindie will see some kind of improvement from Kriel as well.

The difference when they made the switch to Jantjies, Pollard, Kriel has been night and day on every occasion now. It's looking like easily the best c ombination.

Kriel is annoying. He has so many poor moments, then that one game where he looks to have finally clicked. Against New Zealand in Pretoria, he was phenomenal. If he could distribute more, he'd be a great 13. His defence is better than Damian's. Of the two he has the most potential, is significantly hungrier. Am on the otherhand has looked better. Even outside Damian. We should bring Serfontein into the team and drop Damian. André, Serfontein, Am and Kriel are usable.

I'm surprised Nel hasn't had a game yet. Maybe against Scotland.
